I had an issue with chrome not loading properly and 'hanging up', so decided to do a full uninstall, and then download the latest and reinstall. There was one file that was left behind that required 'Administrator' access to remove and that was being done when I had to leave my desktop for about 10 minutes, and when I returned I was greeted with a new window and a screed from Microsoft that said something like 'we have made changes to your computer'. You surely had - all my email's for 2016 /17 have disappeared, all documents that had been retained under Google Chrome and/or PDF are now under Microsoft Edge, and about half my desktop shortcuts are gone. How is it that Microsoft can interfere with a computer just at their whim? Is there any way of recovering to the way things were? And while we are on the job, has anyone found an incinerator that will burn Microsoft Edge once and for all!!!oldfella

Hi, I am the account administrator of a PC running Windows 10, including I believe, all the latest Windows updates. Users, me and one other. I tried recently, for the first time, to change my Windows 10 Login Password as follows - Start Button, settings, accounts, sign-in options, password, change your account (expecting to be able to change my password by entering my current password, new password, and confirm new password). Result - small, light blue solid screen displayed, whole PC frozen, no fields displayed to enter passwords. Alt Ctrl Del didn't respond. Had to switch off power, and start up PC again. My Microsoft Account Password is the same as my current Windows 10 Login Password. Any suggestions welcome

Hi, I have windows 10 OS, and I have a very bad problem, The " Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64 based Systems (KB3213986) " it's can't installed I don't know what, I try to format my computer a lot of time, but the same problem. Any solution please :'(
Just logging my similar experiences as others here on my Dell XPS 9550 with m.2 SSD. I was having problems with a several update packages and after a system restore, I managed to get one or two to successfully install, but I'm now left with this one which goes through the whole update process to 100%, then fails and unwinds itself again, taking about an hour or more to do this entire cycle. Every time I wake up on the morning, it shows the login screen, and I log in and go to Windows Update and it shows the same file pending and asks me to restart or wait for the active hours. When I look in Event Viewer i find this: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3213986). Update: Doing a bit of reading around it seems like my issue is likely to be that my System Reserved Partition (called EFI System Partition on SSDs apparently) is too small. Mine is set to 500MB which people say should be plenty, but I guess Windows is getting more and more bloated over time. I now need to go and spend money to install a 3rd party partition manager piece of software to extend it because Window's Disk Management utility doesn't allow it. Thanks Microsoft! Brilliant design there!

I have been through the various solutions (rebooting/updating/reinstalling) suggested to fix this error, but it is still there. I notice that facebook forum for Mahjong gamers shows that many have had the same problem, without any reply. As a player of this game for over three years , I must record my deep disappointment and hope this problem will be fixed, hopefully at your end, as soon as possible.
