Windows 7 extremly slow boot time

Windows 7

I have an extremely slow Windows 7 boot time. It takes 3 - 4 minutes to boot, and then an additional 2-3 minutes before I can actually use the computer. I have went into Ms-config and disabled most of the start-up services, I set it to boot with all of my cores and max RAM. I have tried Glary Utilities and Kingsoft PC Wizard to try and improve boot time. Nothing has helped. My Specs: Motherboard: AMD 760G Chipset Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 270x. CPU: AMD FX-4100 Zambezi overclocked to 3.8 GHz RAM: 8 GB DDR3 Hard-drive: 1 TB with about 450 GB available. I am not lacking in specs, and Windows runs fine once it gets past the 6-8 minutes it needs before I can actually use it. It's incredibly frustrating how slow it is. I am open to suggestions. I have alos run Norton anti-virus many times and it has found no viruses or issues.

How can I darken the scrollbar slider

Windows 7

I am referring to the slider on the scrollbar. I have been all throughout the appearance settings and cannot find anywhere to do this. I would like the slider to be darker. I have tried several themes and it does not change from the just slightly darker shade than the scrollbar itself. I am using Windows 7 HP and my computer is working fine except for this. Thanks

Windows 7: Unable to change desktop wallpaper

Windows 7

Hello, I am running Window 7 Home Premium and have been unable to change my desktop background. After checking other threads with similar problems being discussed I am still unable to. - I have made sure that "Remove background images" (where available) is unchecked in the Ease of access center. - I don't have any third party display changing programs running. - I have run the Microsoft System File Checker through the command prompt with it telling me no problems detected. - When navigating to %USERPROFILE%AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsThemes the folder comes up empty. I feel this is where the problem must lie, but am unable to find a solution to it. Also, when trying to set an image from a browser as background nothing happens. When trying to set an image from Windows Photo Viewer I get the message "This image cannot be set as wallpaper. An internal error has occurred." Hopefully this is enough information to help solve this! Thank you in advance.

"New" "Shortcut" still does not work.

Windows 7

Help Me Please When I try to create a shortcut with my mouse, using my right button, I left click on "New" and then on "Shortcut". Nothing happens at this point. Same thing if I try to do that in Explorer. I am using Windows 7, clean install. MS Explorer mouse and a MS keyboard model 6000 v3.0. I also do not get volume control with this Keyboard; I do not use the Lazer mouse that came with the keyboard. I asked this before but never received an answer. Please, is there a way to turn this feature back on? Thank you. I did what was asked at the CMD prompt. It found no errors and I still don't have a fix. I pushed vote icon instead of reply USN - Retired

Use full size of screen

Windows 7

Why doesn't the lighted part of my screen fill the entire size of the laptop screen. There's an inch on each side that is black (not used)? Ive tried increasing from 125% to 150% but then Photoshop screens don't fit properly, so I went back to 125%. Can't I do both or do I need to change back & forth? Actually changing from 125 to 150% doesn't fill the entire size of the laptop screen either - I just tried it again to be sure. TrisheBear
