The title of this question is my concern. This is new since the most Win10 update. It does not allow me access as Admin so ... can someone tell me what this is?
As the title says, I am not able to install any fonts on Windows 10. The details regarding the error messaging are the same as this thread on Superuser: http://superuser.com/questions/957907/unable-to-install-fonts-on-windows-10 Because my symptoms are the exact same as that thread, I will not repeat them here. However, the proposed solution in the thread of turning on Windows Firewall does not fix my symptoms. I have spent the last 3 weeks working with Typekit support combing through logs, trying different workarounds, and essentially eviscerating every tool I use on this machine to make money trying to fix the issue. After all of this time, they can only tell me this is a 'known' issue with Windows. So, Microsoft.... How known is this issue? Is it known enough to help me fix this and get on with my business? As a typographer, you can understand how not having access to, or being able to install, any fonts can be challenging to my business. To recap: Windows won't install any fonts -- throws an error messageTypekit fonts are locked out and additional type cannot be added through Adobe Cloud -- Typekit and Adobe both say this is a 'known Windows issue'Superuser thread confirms others are having issues; suggests enabling Firewall. Firewall already is enabled...Firewall disabled, re-enabled, and a million combinations therein tested, restarted, etc. UAC Disabled and enabled. No luck. Fonts have been moved to different disks to try installation, no luck. Fresh fonts as well. Please, someone help. I am severely limited in the amount of tasks I can get done on the crappy old laptop I'm running my business off of while this issue hobbles my workhorse machine.
For the past two weeks, I have unable to access my Sudoku games in Windows 10. The screen appears, but when I click on the game to start it, the screen goes black and returns to my desktop. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but that doesn't help. Any ideas as to how I can fix this?
After more than 6 month offline maps for my country (Iran) still is unavailable, i just want know why ? its not fair
We have a data collection system that we expect to run for several years at a time that was developed on a Win 7 platform. Available laptop systems now have Win 10. We have no access to internet in the application. We successfully ran tests on Win 7 platforms for many months. With Win 10 platforms the system locks up within days to weeks and must be rebooted. Clock stops, keyboard inoperative, "isaAgent ID 1130" fill logs, etc. This appears to be related to updates that cannot be done without internet. Since we have no internet connection for security reasons we need no security updates. Since the system otherwise is working using specific Windows resources we do not need periodic updates. How can we keep the Win 10 systems running indefinitely? We have continuous backup for AC power both with the laptop battery and the main AC.
The wifi connection started disconnecting after this update auto installed last week. A serious problem as I do all my work remotely. I tried numerous fixes offered online but to no avail. When I finally uninstalled the update, the problem vanished. I did not shut down my PC for three days because the rogue update will re-install. Today I did restart, KB3213986 was re-installed and the same problem is back. Has anyone found a proper solution to this issue? Thanks
Hi all, I have an XPS 13 with Windows 10 Home on it. The issue I'm having is that the taskbar will expand automatically sometimes, even when I have it locked, and I will will have to then right-click, unlock the taskbar, drag it down to only fit on one strip, then re-lock the taskbar. Is there a way to prevent it from doing this, because the lock function is definitely not solving the problem. Best, Anthony
Sometimes when I highlight an item to drag it to another folder all the highlighted items suddenly copy. I get it that it depends on the simultaneity of the clicking but it's easy to go to quickly when you have a lot to get done. Can this automatic copying be disabled?
Split from this thread. Hi, We suggest that you go into SoftwareDistribution and permanently delete the catroot2 folder or its contents, and then try to proceed with the Anniversary Update. Let us know how it goes.
