Bing not Working

Windows 10

Asked by: MichaelQuickel

A few days ago I noticed that my Bing Homepage was not working. The search bar is off center, all the login information and rewards stuff is missing and no matter what I try to connect to that is Bing related (has bing in the url) I get the website is down error or cannot connect. I first figured maybe they were updating something so I payed it no mind but it has been 4 days and the problem is still there. I have cleared cache and everything on Firefox and IE to no avail. Can someone help because I miss my Bing!

Thanks for postingyour query to Microsoft forum. I will certainly help you with this.

This issue might occur due to enhanced security features enabled on Internet Explorer 11. Corrupt or missing add-ons might also cause such issues.

I would suggest you to follow the methods below and check.

Method 1: Check proxy connection.

If you are using a proxy connection, then try disabling proxy and then check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to disable proxy:

  1. Press Windows key + R key, Run window opens.
  2. Type inetcpl.cpl in the search box and clickOk. Internet Options window opens.
  3. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings
  4. Uncheck the Use Proxy server.
  5. Click Apply and Ok to save changes.

If the issue persists, follow method 2.

Method 2: Check in compatibility view.

You may also refer the article: “Use Compatibility View in Internet Explorer” and follow the instructions given in it and check if the web pages work in the compatibility view. You may click on this link for that:

Step 1: Follow the steps in the following Microsoft help article below :

Cannot access some websites in Internet Explorer

Step 2:  Follow the steps in the following Microsoft help article below :

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error

  • The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature.

  • Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

  • When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed.

  • When running a scan using an Anti Virus program, any data files that are infected may be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Hope this is helpful. Please feel free to get back to us if this issue persists or if you have any further queries or issues related to Windows.

Thanks & Regards,
