Can I upgrade Vista to Windows 10 or must I wipe the PC and install Windows 10 fresh?

Windows 10

Asked by: TheJane

I have finally resigned myself to the fact that Vista users don't get a free upgrade to Windows 10.  Hard pill to swallow.

I called Microsoft Store to try to purchase Windows 10 and the Sales Rep tells me that I can't UPGRADE to Windows 10 from Vista, I will need to WIPE my PC and do a clean install.

Can I get confirmation that's right or wrong from people who have dealt with Vista-to-Windows10 already?

thanks, community.

Thank you for sharing your concern here in Microsoft Community.

The answer to you question is yes.

You really need to wipe your computer because there is a big possibility that your computer is not compatible with Windows 10.
