Sep. 05, 2015 I thought Cortana was to be up and running on Windows 10 in Canada by now..? When I have all of the required settings pointing to the US, Cortana works great. But I am not able to point all of the required settings to English Canada. see below: I have my country set to Canada and English Canada is my display language.... .... but English United states is the only option for Speech Language Even though English Canada appears to be the display language, I do not seem to have the English Canada language pack. I checked my update history and I do not see it there either. Oddly, going to a Microsoft page, English Canada does not appear as an option. Am I imagining things? I can use Cortana if I go back to all of my US settings, but I understood that it was available in Canada now. Any help will be appreciated.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windirLogsCBSCBS.log. For example C:WindowsLogsCBSCBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios. Only problem I noticed is that the search bar on my task bar is not working properly such as looking for certain programs. If anyone can lead me on how to fix this problem it will be much appreciated.
i just received my Windows 10 download. I have been trying to configure Contana. I keep getting asked for my previous password and I do not know what it was before I changed it to the current one. Are there any fixes to get around this. Thanks Henry
Sept 8th all was well. This morning, after starting, the Start button (left click) does nothing. Cortana does nothing. Logo + S does nothing. Quick Link Menu search does nothing. Can only access programs from desktop icons. Ran latest restore point. Same results. Ran SFC/SCANNOW... NOTHING DISM did nothing. Powershell string did nothing. Next step to restore Point Sept 5. Have full image from early August, would rather reimage from Windows 7 If Microsoft does not fix will remove Window 10 from all computers under my control
I am trying to log into Windows to activate Cortana. My password was not accepted (or forgotten - depends on your point of view). I went through the steps of resetting my password. Once I had my new password, I resumed my efforts to activate Cortana. It asks me to input my previous password. There is no way I could get past this page because I did not know my previous password (had to reset my password). If someone lets me know how I can activate Cortana without knowing my previous password, I'll activate and start using Cortana. If not, I'll do things the way I have up to this date - without Cortana.
When I first got my download Windows 10 everything worked fine. Then after a few days I was unable to access my Start Menu, Edge, Cortana and am unable to type anything into the search the web and Windows search box. I kept getting a message from windows saying there was a critical error and it was unable to open my start menu and Cortana. As a result I was also locked out of my control panel on my computer. I did a diagnostic test on my computer and all the tests passed. I rebooted and was still unable to access any of those things. I followed some prior instructions found on the support page to get into my start page then when the computer shut down Windows notified me they were installing updates. I signed back in and everything worked fine. 3 hours later I tried opening my start menu and looking at my notifications in Cortana and am having the same problem again. Can you please give me some suggestions as to what is wrong and how to fix it? I upgraded to Win10 from Win7. I can't give you any of the computer information because I can't access it.
I have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Cortana is disabled and I cannot enable it in any way. I changed (and saved) my location, which is in United Kingdom (post code ME15 6QH). The shown location now is correct but Cortana is still disabled and I cannot use it. How to fix it? Many thanks
How can I remove all the ads and fluff like Cortana or other programs I do not nor will I use? (kinda wish I would NOT have upgraded). I know how to 'uninstall' programs; need to know how to remove the myriad of garbage that the new menu panel pops up. I don't want links to sites big M puts in my face... nor other 'apps' that seem to come with Windows 10. I get a lot of system lag now with all the stupid TSR's running in the background and want them gone for good. Any way to disable? Destroy? Any help?
Hello I upgraded to windows 10 like 3 weeks ago and I just came across a bug where Start menu wont work, But search icon works, and the Microsoft Edge icon is bugged / Invisible. I can still click on Microsoft edge but I cant right click on the icon or anything can even switch between other Microsoft edge running. I already had a problem where When I opened my pc it would say something like "The task bar isn't working and we will fix it when you log in next time" But then it was fixed for some time. Now I tried restarting my pc multible times still nothing :( Ty for help. Here is a Picture of Bugged Microsoft Edge :
