From many pictures I see of the Windows 10's start menu, I see that it's possible to fit a maximum of 4 medium sized tiles in a single row. I like the medium sized tiles the best, and I want to do the same thing and sort each application in its own category. However, it looks like I can only fit a maximum of 3. I tried resizing the start menu, but there is a spacer dividing another column. So I'm confused in all of these images. How do I manage more than 3 medium sized tiles in a single row?
I want to have a separate start page for my wife. When I went to create an account for a family member, it said, "We couldn't connect to Microsoft family right now, so your family on this device might not be up to date." When I clicked "+ Add a family member," it said "something went wrong. Try again later." This has happened for 3 days. I just bought this computer with W10, which I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.....Terry
I just installed Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 and I have a Asus Laptop and after Windows 10 completed the installation I tried to open icons on the desktop and they didn't open and I double clicked and also tried clicking a lot of times and it still didn't open, the only way I can open it is by right clicking it and selecting open! It was working normally on Windows 8.1 but on Windows 10 the icons just don't open and this is really annoying. Everything else besides the icons on the desktop opens and works normally. I tried restarting the laptop and it was the same problem! PLZZ CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!
I have a wallpaper that is mostly white and that prevents me from reading my icons' text labels without clicking on them. There are great instructions for changing the color for Win8 and prior, but things have changed in Win10 and those instructions seem to be no longer applicable.
How can the color of the text in the windows 10 Start Menu be set so that it won't change? The color on the main list starts out white against a dark background, which is OK, but it keeps changing to dark colors that cannot easily be seen. This usually happens when I select all apps and begin scrolling down through the list, but it sometimes happens when I first select Start. I've tried changing background and accent colors, and also letting windows automatically choose colors, but it keeps doing this regardless of how I set it.
I have upgraded to windows 10 and my start menu doesn't work I have tried power shell that I found and still doesn't work I have started the computer in safe mode then it worked but I have tried disabling software in msconfig but still hasn't rectified the problem. Is there another fix or am I waiting for an update
I need to troubleshoot the monitor that is set as my main monitor. It is black with no display. All of the tools I need are launching on the main monitor. Since it has no display, I'm not making much progress. For example, I select Display settings and it is launching on the monitor with no display. I can't see a way to change the working monitor to be the designated main monitor. Is there a way to reset the main monitor? Or, somehow to move the icons all to the secondary monitor so I can work on the one that's broken? Thanks
Is there a way to add the "touch keyboard" icon to the Action Centre or to the taskbar in Tablet Mode in Windows 10? I've just upgraded to W10 on my Surface Pro 3 and am enjoying the experience, and tablet mode in OneNote is nifty. The "touch keyboard" icon is to the right of the action Centre icon in desktop mode, but vanishes when I switch to tablet mode. That seems slightly counterintuitive, so perhaps I'm missing something?
