When I want to save a favorite web address in Edge and go to either create a new folder or select an already created folder , the choices disappear so fast as in a split second, that I can't select them or type something in. It is ridiculous! Does anybody else have this problem? How do I make them stay on the screen long enough to select or type?

I've been struggling with getting the latest version of Windows 10 on my ASUS G73SW Laptop since around mid December 2016 when I replaced the hard drive. Prior to this, I had been running Windows 10 since it was released to the public with no significant issues. I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 during the free upgrade period. I am not certain which version of Windows 10 I was running prior to replacing the hard drive however I believe it was at least the Anniversary Update as I was able to add extensions to the Edge Browser and from what I have read the Anniversary Update is required for that ability. After replacing the hard drive I attempted to preform a clean install the latest version of Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool with a USB drive. I ensured that nothing other than the USB was connected to the laptop during the install. The install progressed to the point of the Finishing Up Stage and stalled out at that point with the Microsoft Logo on the screen and a circle of rotating dots. The system remained in that state for 8 hours with no hard drive light activity. I had identical results when I attempted a clean install with DVD media. I then tried a clean install of an older version of Windows 10 (Version 10.0 Build 10240) that I had available on a USB drive and this install was successful however I was unable to update to the current version of Windows 10 with similar indications as described above during the first clean install attempt. Since then I have attempted multiple times to clean install different versions of Windows 10 from a USB drive and each time after the clean install failed I was always able to get Version 10.0 Build 10240 to successfully clean install. Finally last week I was successful in getting Version 1511 Build 10586.753 to install on my laptop however all attempts at updating to the current version have been unsuccessful with similar indications as with the original clean install however I did get an error message on the screen indicating" 0xC1900101-0x20017 The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during the Boot operation. Is there anything else I can do at this point to get the latest version of Windows 10 on my laptop?
After installing the January 2017 Security patches, the system rebooted and would not start giving Inaccessible_Boot_device. I tried rebuilding BCD. /scanos would not even see the OS. I used the restore point of a day before patches and the system is running fine. I am not seeing anything about this yet. Anyone see any KB's for this patch cycle?
Hi, After the latest Windows 10 update on 15th Jan my internet is so slow as to be unuseable and my printer will no longer work. Please advise if my only option is to restore my laptop to pre-updates, and will this cause problems in the future? Thanks
Is there a way to restore the task bar to, I guess the bottom menu, on Windows 10? I don't know how I "uninstalled" it but sure would like to get it back. Surely that is possible. It looked like a rectangular box which was between the microphone icon and the Microsoft Edge icon. Thanks. sus01
Hello there, (I'm have a windows computer, just to get that out of the way) To start things off this whole issue started when i was playing a game called sonic heros that i had installed on my compter directly from the internet. Around a week ago i was playing but somthing happened while I was playing the game so I cut off the power to my computer directly from the plug and when i came back to turn my computer on again it went into system recovery mode and gave me a screen like this screen (this is not my picture, this is a picture i got from google with the exact same screen that i had): I left my computer alone for a few days after dabbling with it and having no luck getting my computer to it's original condition. I tried again this Friday and i was able to get my computer to its original condition after a little bit of trial and error on the command promt, start up settings and the system restore, and I believe I was able to get my computer back to its original condition through the system restore. Once my computer was up and running again, i checked everything to make sure it was working properly but my sonic heros file that i had installed on my computer is now gone, google chrome has an icon as if i have not extracted the files from it yet, and a couple of my other files that I have downloaded such as PKhex, sound hax ect., either won't load or won't let me extract the files from the zip folder and I've tried redownloading all of the files but the same thing is happening for the redownloaded (its not giving me an error message but everytime i try to open a program or unzip a file, the screen goes black for a second and closes my file explorer for no reason). Another thing is that everytime i try to open the Microsoft store, It keeps saying that I need to check my internet connection (which is working just fine)and wont connect to the server and gives an error code: 0x8007007F and this text under the bottom that i have no clue what i means: CV: XWIyjcTM+EG6tLt8. So, if anyone can help me with this issue it would be very much appreciated.
Split from this thread. I have exactly the same problem has reported ! I have a DELL Latitude E5570 with Win7 SP1 x64, and only when I am realizing WebEx meeting (last version of Meeting Center), I got the BSOD around 50% of the time for an unknow reason (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION in igdkmd64.sys, 126.96.36.19931). I have updated several time the driver from DELL support site (and every drivers + BIOS), I have asked DELL to change my motherboard & memory, but nothing is changing, I'm still having the crash. I imagine that it is a driver issue when high memory usage (I'm using 2 1920*1080) screens), but I don't see any setting that I could change to test another way to fix this issue ...
I own Windows 8.1 retail version and would like to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Professional. Is this possible? If I can do this, do I have to purchase a different product key and activation key? I do not want to migrate to Windows 10 at all at this time.
