Hi, After the latest Windows 10 update on 15th Jan my internet is so slow as to be unuseable and my printer will no longer work. Please advise if my only option is to restore my laptop to pre-updates, and will this cause problems in the future? Thanks
Is there a way to restore the task bar to, I guess the bottom menu, on Windows 10? I don't know how I "uninstalled" it but sure would like to get it back. Surely that is possible. It looked like a rectangular box which was between the microphone icon and the Microsoft Edge icon. Thanks. sus01
Hello there, (I'm have a windows computer, just to get that out of the way) To start things off this whole issue started when i was playing a game called sonic heros that i had installed on my compter directly from the internet. Around a week ago i was playing but somthing happened while I was playing the game so I cut off the power to my computer directly from the plug and when i came back to turn my computer on again it went into system recovery mode and gave me a screen like this screen (this is not my picture, this is a picture i got from google with the exact same screen that i had): I left my computer alone for a few days after dabbling with it and having no luck getting my computer to it's original condition. I tried again this Friday and i was able to get my computer to its original condition after a little bit of trial and error on the command promt, start up settings and the system restore, and I believe I was able to get my computer back to its original condition through the system restore. Once my computer was up and running again, i checked everything to make sure it was working properly but my sonic heros file that i had installed on my computer is now gone, google chrome has an icon as if i have not extracted the files from it yet, and a couple of my other files that I have downloaded such as PKhex, sound hax ect., either won't load or won't let me extract the files from the zip folder and I've tried redownloading all of the files but the same thing is happening for the redownloaded (its not giving me an error message but everytime i try to open a program or unzip a file, the screen goes black for a second and closes my file explorer for no reason). Another thing is that everytime i try to open the Microsoft store, It keeps saying that I need to check my internet connection (which is working just fine)and wont connect to the server and gives an error code: 0x8007007F and this text under the bottom that i have no clue what i means: CV: XWIyjcTM+EG6tLt8. So, if anyone can help me with this issue it would be very much appreciated.
Split from this thread. I have exactly the same problem has reported ! I have a DELL Latitude E5570 with Win7 SP1 x64, and only when I am realizing WebEx meeting (last version of Meeting Center), I got the BSOD around 50% of the time for an unknow reason (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION in igdkmd64.sys, 184.108.40.20631). I have updated several time the driver from DELL support site (and every drivers + BIOS), I have asked DELL to change my motherboard & memory, but nothing is changing, I'm still having the crash. I imagine that it is a driver issue when high memory usage (I'm using 2 1920*1080) screens), but I don't see any setting that I could change to test another way to fix this issue ...
I own Windows 8.1 retail version and would like to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Professional. Is this possible? If I can do this, do I have to purchase a different product key and activation key? I do not want to migrate to Windows 10 at all at this time.
I was doing a clean install to erase Windows 7 and put Windows 10 insider preview build 15002, it boots to the logo then the spinning dots appear then freeze and boots to a black screen. I really need help, I need to use my PC and it isn't working. It's Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15002 x86/32bit by the way.
Hello, My printer suddenly stopped working a while back but I need to slog through whatever issue it has because I cannot put it off any longer. As a history of what's occuring, last February there was a similar issue, and it was thankfully resolved if only for a while. Here's hoping someone can help me again. So I am trying to print but even though control panel shows my printer in devices, after clicking on print in MS Word it says No Printer Installed and after clicking on Add Printer two popups come onto the screen, the highlighted one saying the following message: Find in the Directory The Active Directory Domain Service is currently unavailable. When I go to Control Panel to see if I can troubleshoot the issue, I get the following message: Windows can't open Add Printer The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine. I did try to restart both my printer and then my machine (laptop) individually and that didn't resolve the issue. So then I went to last February's issue (2016) and tried to read through those messages to find a fix and I am honestly unsure whether these are the exact same issues even though they look the same. A further note to bring up is that in the last month although it had also been rectified in the not too long ago past, my Windows Update is suddenly going off again and failing to update and trying to update and then alerting me that the update failed, which is also extremely aggravating. IN SUM: My foremost issue is I cannot print My second issue is Windows Update keeps going off. Can someone please kindly assist me to correct these so that I can quickly get back in business? Thank you very much! Sincerely, Kenn Young
Hi, Some of my users reported, on multiple computers, that since 2-3 weeks File explorer take for ever to load. On a SSD with 0% CPU & 0% HDD usage; it take some time between 10 to 30 sec before the page appear; on the same computer Program and feature took up to nearly 1 minutes to appear. Once appear all is good. Why is that? Best regards,
I purchased a new PC about 3 weeks ago. Came with Windows 10. I moved 1 file over to OneDrive to see if it would sync. It does not. I've gone through the "Fix OneDrive Syncing Problems" on the Microsoft site and done them all. Still no luck. When I click on the OneDrive white cloud it tells me that all files are up to date. The file I moved into OneDrive has a green check next to it. Anyone have any ideas?
Hi I've been having problems with my LAN connection in Windows 10. Using ipconfig/renew /release solves it but I have to do this everytime I shut down the computer, wanted to know if anyone knows a long-term solution for this. Thanks!
Hi, Hopefully someone can help here. I work in an office with 20 - 25 people. We have a large monitor that's mounted to the wall and I've been asked to project a slideshow on that monitor using a spare laptop. While this is fine when I'm beside the laptop, the issue is that I cannot project it via a PP slideshow if I leave the computer. Due to security reasons, I cannot leave the spare laptop unlocked, as I'm logged into is using my credentials and ultimately one could access my emails if they wanted to, while it was unlocked. I've tried exporting the slideshow as images and then displaying that slideshow when the screen is locked. The problem is that there is a large clock and date displayed on the lock screen, which cannot be removed. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can display a PowerPoint slideshow while the computer is locked/protected from others, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I have my iPhone plugged into my laptop to keep it charged. I started going through my iPhone storage to delete pictures and create space, but when I try to delete a picture, it says "you do not have permission to delete this item". I'm set up as a "regular user" on this laptop, but I can actually log out and log back into the Admin account, as well. Only thing is, where do I go from there to allow regular users to delete pictures?
