Failed: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems

Windows 10

Asked by: RhianonM

I've been through all the posts I can find here, and tried all the things. I'm still having trouble.

1)  Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3206632) Failed to install. After reboot it says it could not complete and undo the changes.

2)Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3213986) Failed to install. Same thing as above

3)Security Update for Windows (KB3206632) failed to install

I ran sfc/scannow and "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of these."

I booted in safe mode and ran DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and at 99.9% it gave me this:

Error: 0x800f0906

DISM Log: http://mypixelobsession.com/32/dism.log

WindowsUpdate.log: http://mypixelobsession.com/32/WindowsUpdate.log

I wasn't sure if you needed my sys info or not.

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, right click Command Prompt, and click Run as administrator from the drop down menu. Type or copy and paste:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%LogsCBSCBS.log >"%userprofile%Desktopsfcdetails.txt"

and press the ENTER key.
You will find an sfcdetails.txt file on your Desktop.

Please note there are three spaces in the command:
Between findstr and /c,
Between [SR]" and
Between CBS.log and >"%userprofile

Please upload a copy of your sfcdetails.txt file to your OneDrive as a shared file and post a link here. Enter sfcdetails.txt in the Search box above the Start button and press the ENTER key to locate the file created.

Note The Sfcdetails.txt file contains details from every time that the System File Checker tool has been run on the computer. The file includes information about files that were not repaired by the System File Checker tool. Verify the date and time entries to determine the problem files that were found the last time that you ran the System File Checker tool.
