Hi I have a desktop and a laptop and log into them with the same MS account. Both show as devices in 'My Account'. On both machines I have selected sync settings and have said yes to everything. But my theme is not syncing, so I doubt anything else is. I use my MS password on one machine, but have opted for a pin on the other - could that cause the problem? How can I fix this sync issue? ps, I have shutdown both machines and logged into and out of my account several times.
Hi, When I tried to boot up my laptop, a blue screen of death flashed, and it restarted. After this, it asked me weather I wanted to start up in safe mode. Starting up in safe mode, all the drives load, and then the screen is just black with my (working) cursor. After this nothing happens, but my laptop keeps running. Since this took place, I have been in looking up how to fix it, but with little to no success. What I have found, through sartup repair were the following problem details: Problem Event name: StartupRepairOffline Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385 Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385 Problem Signature 03: unknown Problem Signature 04: 21199663 Problem Signature 05: ManualRepair Problem Signature 06: 3 Problem Signature 07: NoBootFailure OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1043 I couldn't find these same details anywhere else. Can anyone please help me to find a solution? Thanks in advance
Some of my taskbar buttons have pixelated icons. This specifically seems to affect: 1. Adobe applications 2. Only when the program is running 3. Only when the taskbar is set to "Never combine" (the mode I always use) I made this image to demonstrate the problem: https://i.imgsafe.org/6583bd2201.png Can anyone please help?
I turn on the computer everything works fine then after about a day the wall paper turns black then the icons start to disappear and then the taskbar till there is nothing but a black screen. I restart and everything is fine again for about a day. Please help
I recently have been using safe mode boot in order to remove some files that refused to be deleted via the regular uninstall process for software. Usually this is not a problem but I noticed the last couple of times I used the safe mode boot up, I encountered an error message. Although I was still able to close that pop up and continue with removing the file folders I wanted without issue, this is a recurring issue. I have no idea why? Of course I rarely use safe mode unless I run into stubborn file removal after uninstalling a software, so I can't say its always been like that. Here is a screen shot of that pop up: I really do not understand why this is happening. I've not changed my administrator account so why is this a problem?
Using Windows 8, I have a problem with Windows LIve Mail: for two different mail accounts I receive an error message that relates to the above error. Hence, the problem must be related to Windows, not the mail accounts I'm using. Tyring to fix this, I see the following suggestion: Please follow the steps given in the article How do I add an account to Windows Live Mail? to re-configure/ add an email account to Windows Live Mail. You may need to remove an account before you re-configure it. When I do this (remove an account and reconfigure) does that mean that I loose all mail folders and their contents? Hope someone can help me with an answer. Thanks in advance! Ellen
The last 2 months, I have had trouble with the Windows 10 Updates downloading and installing. Last month, I ran the Troubleshooting Fix problems with Windows Update, and it Fixed the issues. This month, the same thing happened and I ran the Troubleshooting again. It fixed 3 issues, installed 3 updates, and says my computer is up to date. But the Troubleshooting did not fix one issue -- Potential Windows Update Database error detected -- Repair Windows Update Database Corruption - Not Run. What does this mean ?
I have previously installed Visio onto a Laptop, but have since replaced this with a new Laptop. I've uninstalled Visio from my older Laptop, with the intention of installing onto the newer Laptop. However, when I attempt to do this, I'm informed that I can't register it as it is already registered on another device. The only alternative option I'm presented with, it to try to activate via telephone. However, when I try this, I'm informed that this is no longer supported in my country. Is there any way that I can register Visio on my newer Laptop, so that I can use it?
I discovered last night my parents' computer had never been updated (and it's really old) - updates had been disabled. I set them to automatic and ran a check for updates. It said checking updates all through the night and was still "checking for updates" this morning. I tried shutting down the computer and restarting it and still had the same issue. I tried running the troubleshooter, and it came up with error 0x80070003 that it couldn't fix. There is no software distribution folder, so the long work around isn't working. How do we fix this issue?
Hello dear community, I have recently been asked by my grandmother to get her the free offer of windows 10 because I purchased her a pc without an operation system and had to go with linux, ubuntu to be precise. That was the background of why the problem started and now I will explain what happened. My grandmother has an ASUS PC at her home and it had ubuntu as its previous OS, I had to install the windows 10 64 bit version on a flash disk to install her the windows 10 OS. First after deleting the data on the ubuntu drive I ran into my first issue: Apparently I couldn't install windows 10 on the ASUS SATA because it was UEFI based and I had to convert it while booting the windows 10 install to GPT, so I looked for a tutorial and I opened up the terminal while in the install typed a bunch of small lines to determine on which memory I should install windows 10. after that I selected the disk and converted it to GPT from UEFI and I could continue to the installation of windows 10. Now I get to the correct problem I'm facing: After the installation I decided to get the updates for the OS and so I did and left the room to let it download all the updates it needed. After I came back to check if the process was over the screen was locked so I moved the mouse to get out of the lock screen and first I noticed that after that the WiFi and volume symbols were missing. I still could slide the date, search and windows slides but anything I clicked there wouldn't pop the tab/window on the screen, So I tried to open the tab of the settings that was fetching the updates and it wouldn't display. It seems everything is running when I click it but It wont display on the screen rather it will highlight the symbol at the startup slide as if to indicate it is on but you cant really enter the settings them self. So I am left with an half operating windows OS, I hope I described the issue well. Also I would like to add that I tried reinstalling the windows 10 several times and had to redo the entire process including the conversion from UEFI to GPT and each time the screen locked I had the same problem, it also happens after I reboot. Is there any fix to this problem? Thank you for your time reading this post, and a thank you for anyone who can give me some insight on how to fix this problem. Red.chickenn.
So, I switched from my Mac to a Windows computer. I sometimes ride my motorcycle and take videos of which were previously loaded and saved to my Mac. When I switched them over to my windows computer the videos are REALLY blurry. My current computer is a surface pro 4 running Windows 10. I am using VLC to be able to play the video. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it? Could it be a coding issue since it was on my Mac? Thanks for any help!
Hello, My laptop motherboard has video issues and will only boot in safe mode. Can I access the Windows Image Backup made from my Vista Ultimate laptop to a new Windows 10 Professional laptop? If not, is there any other way to access the files? Any advice would be appreciated.
