Brand new Windows 7 system: battery plugged in, not charging

Windows 10

Split from this thread. Hey, This is the way it works: 1- When you power on your laptop, if your battery is above 95%. you will get the message "plugged but not charging" 2- When you power on your laptop, if your battery is under 95%, you will see the message "Plugged and charging" until the battery charge reaches 100% (not 95%). That's why sometimes, even if you see that your battery is at 97% and charging also, that means before starting your laptop, the battery was under 95% and reaches 97% since then. Apart from the explanation above there seems to some issues with the error mentioned. Hence try the steps below as well. 1.Click Start and type device in the search field, then select Device Manager . 2.Expand the Batteries category. 3.Under the Batteries category, right-click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing, and select Uninstall . WARNING : Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver. 4.On the Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes . Alternately, select Action > Scan for hardware changes . Give that a try! $C God will not look you over for medals, but for scars.Every winner has scars;be it on heart even I do This did not work on my nextbook 11.6 tablet pc with windows 10 and this is not even a year old ***Post moved by the moderator to the appropriate forum category.***

account suspension

Windows 10

I created an account recently to research problems w/computer. Then I logged out.. Haven't been back till earlier to find I'm suspended. Account activity shows I created acct, then 1/2hr later tried logging in w/wrong password, then logging in successfully couple minutes later. All show same ip address so Microsoft says we think this is you.I KNOW it wasn't me. That is why I tried logging in. I have files popping up in my notepad named desktop.ini(5).# of them keeps increasing & then a windowsupdate.log shows up & none of the dates in it match w/win7 update history.. Log shows fishy stuff to me but I'm no techie,,it's all about agent *******,call id-remote ask to download files,,remote triggering au detection through detectNow api,,triggering offline(interative),,audmig, input install nota ps2 device,,no audio endpoint migration settings found0x2,,call id agent *******,,9js9gc20blue[1].css. & of course a lot of #'s.. I have been finding blocked cookies for sites (casinos & nasty & gaming) that I DON'T visit or recognize. I block all cookies manually & McAffee blocks them for sites like those as parental controls are on..I am the only person in home & NO ONE who visits is allowed to use PC.. I have device folder showing now for an android. I don't have one. Then I find Comcast claimed I did a copyright infringement for downloading a movie because of program? used to download..I don't recognize movie & don't know how to download them anyways..Now I have movies watched in history I don't recognize..The IP address shown as used to create acct w/Microsoft doesn't look like the one that shows up in acct activity for yahoo acct, which after 10yrs on 11-02-2016 suddenly changed to a big long feed address I think it is & suddenly it doesn't show me logging in from my city anymore but from a different city. I called Comcast & they tried saying address changes all the time, NO it doesn't I said. I check activity 1 x a week. Been my ip for 10yrs,always. I have changed passwords on all accts, set up the 2-step,hasen't helped. Again I'm not a tech but I do know what my files, devices & settings are & check recent activity on accts & cookies & security settings in internet options to make sure it's me. Ton of things since 11-02-2016 isn't me. Does anyone recognize what I wrote above as being in windows update log..There's much more but the above looks fishy to me..Can someone have remotely downloaded programs on my pc remotely?..I have Comcast & I just read about dsls etc & how u can access a pc thru phone from somewhere else w/o having to put a splitter on cable at location of pc..Any help will be much appreciated..I have no money to take it anywhere or 150.00 for Microsoft to fix it remotely...

Family setting

Windows 10

Chrome was originally set up as a blocked app on my child's settings. My child emailed me to ask permission to use chrome and I allowed this but now I would like to block it again. How do I do this? I can only see the option to remove apps from the blocked app section but no option to add apps to the blocked app section. Thank you

Fatal Error C0000034 applying windows update 63 out of 81,065

Windows 10

Ohhhh god. Please save me. I can't stand Windows sometimes. I have owned my Windows HP Probook 6460b for around 3 years now. I have a book I am writing currently, about 91 pages through and silly old me forgot to save a backup file somewhere else. I remember doing things and then my computer randomly shutting down sometimes to perform updates without my permission. So I went to my control panel and stopped it. I run Malware checkers every day, but I didn't expect this to happen. My computer switched back to it's original ways of updating and randomly SHUT OFF and updated. Last time this happened my whole hard drive failed and I had to get a new one. I have plenty of downloaded music, videos, games, work I'm doing, and drawings. I can't risk losing everything and I don't have a backup file for anything. I will lose it all. My sister owns one as well that experienced the same problem! I really can't risk losing everything. I get that blue screen with the advanced options button thingy or the restart button. I restarted my computer several times and it did not work. I pressed exit and continue to Windows 8.1, my current Windows status and that didn't work 3 times either. I have done every option except fully restarting my PC, which means losing everything. I don't own memory disks or anything it says I can insert into it to fix it, and I have checked other discussions on this, and I tried EVERYTHING I found as an answer and none of it worked. I really need help. Please, I need someone to save my laptop. I'll lose my book, all the fursuit designs I've made, my letter I wrote to Scott Cawthon, every. single. thing. on. my. laptop. HALP!!! I got a version of Undertale Toby Fox himself sent me when my Steam version wouldn't run! I'd lose that, Emily is Away, all the FNaF Games, Undertale Yellow, ermmmmm.... All the other games I play? TF2 Anyone? Roblox (It's stupid but I still love playing MM2 on it. Great concept, the way they made it was horrible however. Poor Roblox.)? Pokemon Insurgence? Err... Everything? I've made my point. WUT IS HAPPENING????

Pc not recognizing wired headphones after using bluetooth speaker.

Windows 10

I recently got a bose mini soundlink 11 bluetooth speaker for christmas. I usually use it for my phone but a couple days ago I connected it to my pc just to try it out. It worked perfectly fine. Later when I tried connecting my headset to my pc which is what I usually use the computer wouldn't recognize it at all. I checked playback and recording devices and it didn't show up. the bose speaker showed up as well as my monitor. all that i can hear in the headphones when plugged in is a white noise. The drivers for the headset didn't even show up in device manager either. I tried the headset with my phone and they work fine so I think its the pc. Any ideas on how to fix this?

System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled (cmudaxp.sys)

Windows 10

Hello Microsoft Support Community, I have read other help topics that give fixes for this problem. However, I run into a few problems and don't see many guides for (cmudaxp.sys). I was trying to check to see if all my cores were running (unhitched?). I went to msconfig>boot tab>advanced> and made sure "Number of Cores" was unchecked and at 4. Mine was unchecked and at 1. I decided to check mark the box to make adjustments to my cores and changed it to four. Then, I unchecked the box to how it originally was. The only difference was that instead of 1 being in the spot and grayed out, the number 4 was. This made sense to me, so I applied the changes and was recommended to restart. Upon restarting I ran into the blue screen with the frownie face and got the error message that is in the subject title. I looked up the error code and saw some solutions said I need to insert my original windows disc (which I don't have), and others recommend I restart and immediately go into BIOS. When I restart and furiously smash F8, it doesn't go to BIOS. It starts automatic repair. My main problems are that I don't have the best knowledge on how to fix it, I don't have my original windows disk, and when my computer restarts I can't get into BIOS (perhaps its my keyboard preventing me from entering BIOS?). It is a Cooler Master Devastator II. I really hope someone can help. I was really looking forward to playing Overwatch on my day off. Please help!

Please help. I just got a Lenovo Ideapad Laptop with Windows 10. Every time I try to hold down a key it disables to touch pad. This makes it really hard to game. I have an ELAN touch pad. I've tried EVERYTHING. I've disabled PalmTracking, I've went into the ELAN registry and set all values to 0 for PalmTracking. Nothing works. My driver version is: ELAN Touchpad 11.4.95.1_X64_WHQL

System Thread Exception Not Handled – Cannot get into Safe Mode.

Windows 10

Hello. I am getting a ““System Thread Exception Not Handled” (0xc0000001) BSOD when I try to boot into Safe Mode. I have collected the Minidump files here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmM_izfCs7fqgtsxyeIRXm0rXQwuIQ I have collected the SRT files here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmM_izfCs7fqgtsyXaFXhY1WLkTNRg I am using a Toshiba Satellite C55t-A5552 (RAM doubled, and HDD replaced once), running Windows 10 Pro (paid) Insider Preview Client 14393. While I was updating my OS (from 14393 to 14951), I recently updated my drivers from the Toshiba web site, because I was having issues with a USB backup drive. Instead of just updating the USB drivers, I updated all the drivers available for my make and model. From the recovery environment, I found out that all my restore points are gone, and that I could not “go back to a previous build", and that there was no “refresh" option. I cannot do a “in place upgrade” install from a disk (I have disks for Windows 10 Pro, Insider Preview 14951, and 14956, both en-gb and us). From Windows PE, I have run offline sfc, dism, and chkdsk, many times, and the all report that they cannot find any problems. If there is anyone that is more experienced with reading through the log files, and would like to help me pinpoint the issue(s), I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Lock Screen

Windows 10

I am having trouble changing the picture on the lock screen settings. I click on the settings tab and the whole settings dialog box closes. I have done several "fixes" but nothing has worked. Has anyone had this specific problem?

I deleted system files will nilly. Can only boot in safe mode and system restore does not work

Windows 10

I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player and then I went in and was manually deleting all files associated with that,- willy nilly. I must have deleted necessary system files because now windows OS will NOT boot up on my PC. I can only boot in safe mode. When I try to use System Restore program within the Windows 8.1 OS to a restore point that I created, I get the error msg; - A Volume shadow copy service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the Application event log for more information. (0x80042302) Can I download the missing file(s) and put them onto a USB drive and then reinstall them into my pc OS from safe mode?
