How do you disable the pin authentication on login on Windows 10?

Windows 10

Asked by: Christopher KimGogo

I recently installed Windows 10. During the installation, I was asked to give a PIN for added security. I did so thinking I could just remove it later. Now, I do want to remove it so that when I turn on my computer it will immediately go into my desktop, load my apps, etc. But I don't know how to remove it. I found out how to change it, but not to remove it.

Searching the net proved almost useless because all I could find were for Windows 7 or 8.

Bottom line: I want to remove the login screen PIN input.

Hi Christopher,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

Try the below steps and check if that helps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on Accounts.
  3. Select Sign-in options.
  4. Look for PIN. Since you have already created a pin, you should be getting option as Forgot my PIN, click on that.
  5. Now click on Continue.
  6. Don’t enter the pin details and click on Cancel.
  7. Now check for the issue.

Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you.

Thanks & Regards
