Many programs not working after Windows 10 latest update.

Windows 10

After receiving a major upgrade in the new year that took 2 1/2 hours (!) many programs will not work - Adobe PDF reader, Windows media player, Open Office, and Zoomplayer works but generates an error message when closing. WerFault comes up saying that "The instruction at 0x000000073DA3627 referenced memory at 0x000000073A23B2C. The memory could not be written.

Click OK to terminate the program."

Adobe and Openoffice do not start and search for an answer to the problem until I give up and cancel.

I have AMD hardware and I think that has been a problem since the beginning of Win10 since the upgrade from Win8 failed several times before Win10 would install and crashed often after that.

This is the first time that I've lost so much functionality and would be helpless if I didn't still have an XP computer available.

While typing this the WerFault message came up again twice.

If you've been having issues since the upgrade then a clean install of Windows 10 can often clear up issues as with any upgrade leftover "junk" can be left behind.

If you choose to go this step then you'll want to be sure to backup your docs first. Also, you'll need to reinstall any of your programs.
