How do I get rid of "This page can not be displayed" from my computor

Answered by:

When does it appear? ( for example when you open IE, or once open when you try to change web page?)

Do any web pages appear OK or do they all not load?

Have you tried another browser as a test? ( say Mozilla Firefox - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox )

In order try:

1 It won't take too long to try, so update your AntiVirus program and run a full scan. See if it finds any malware.

2 Try deleting cookies and temp internet files and see if that helps - http://pcsupport.about.com/od/maintenance/ht/deltempintfilesie.htm ( nothing to download, only to read and follow ).

3 Try resetting IE and see if that helps. NOTE the list of whats altered, back things up first if you have concerns - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/923737#bookmark-reset%20ie%20settings

4 Try flushing the DNS cache. See 'Flush DNS with Windows 7 and 8' in this article  http://www.howtogeek.com/197804/how-to-clear-the-google-chrome-dns-cache-on-windows/
5 Try creating a new test user account. Does the problem occur in that account?

I should have added:

Try Internet Explorer in 'no add-on' mode and see what happens then. click [Internet Explorer (No Add Ons )] and see if it happens then.
Try it before doing 5 above.
