Unable to connect a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic mouse with a Microsoft Sculpt Keyboard dongle

Windows 10

Asked by: ICTag

I already have a microsoft sculpt keyboard connected by wireless, so when my old mouse broke I bought a microsoft sculpt mouse in the expectation that these are compatable.

How can I connect the sculpt mouse to the sculpt keyboard dongle (to avoid wasting a USB port)?

Hello Tom,

Welcome to Microsoft Community Forum.

As per the description I understand that you are unable to connect the old Bluetooth receiver with the new Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic mouse. You may face this issue when the Bluetooth device is not added appropriately in the Bluetooth device list. Please do not worry I will try my best to resolve it.

However, before we proceed I would require some more information to assist you better.

1. Do you receive any error message while connecting the old Bluetooth receiver with the new Microsoft sculpt ergonomic mouse?

2. Have you install Bluetooth drivers on your computer?

3. What is the make and model of the computer?

I would suggest you to try the following methods:

Method 1:

Step 1:

Uninstall and reinstall the Bluetooth device drivers

1. Click on Start, type Device Manager in the start Search box and press Enter.

2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password or click Continue. The Device Manager Window will be open.

3. Locate and double-click the Bluetooth device.

4. Right-click the device (Listed under Bluetooth device) and then click on Uninstall.

5. Click OK.

6. Restart the computer, Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.

7. In the Device Manager Window, click the Action menu and then click Scan for hardware  changes

8. If Windows is unable to find a driver update for the Bluetooth device, then try to download the latest drivers from the Microsoft website and install them.
