Sometime after update KB3213986 on Jan 11, a small "sharing" icon appeared in the lower left corner of my desktop folder and file icons, but not on my shortcut icons. I am suppose to have my Carbonite backup icons there, but they say this sharing icon will not allow their icon to appear. Microsoft has tried three times without a resolve. Anyone have the issue with successful resolve?
After spending over 30 hours trying to get an HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 to print in Windows 10 64-bit (one computer using a direct USB connection, the other using a wireless network), I discovered the problem wasn’t with the HP driver, but with Office 2007 programs (Word, Outlook etc.) blocking access. [EVERY other program prints without issue—it simply didn’t occur to me until today that Word 2007 was suddenly the issue.] This has to be after some wonderful Win 10 update crippled use of this printer—an old LaserJet 1320 never had any such problems--& up until a few months ago, there was no problem with either computer printing to the 8610, some 10+ months after updating Win 7 to 10. On the HP support site I found someone with the identical problem who discovered a work-around: create a new user account. Sure enough, this worked for both computers. But this work-around is beyond ridiculous—how the **** did some OS update or Office “security” fix create this problem??? Creating new accounts, with the same email addresses, telephone #s as the single-user admin account I use only for myself, is difficult, unnecessary (before Win 10 destroyed any partial illusion of stability) a huge waste of time etc. Any suggestion on how to simply RESTORE basic functionality without this work-around would be greatly appreciated.

PLEASE HELP... hi my name is holly. I am hoping that someone can help me solve this issue...Its become quite the hassle not having access to my laptop when Im on the go...It will only work when plugged in. When its plugged in though, it does not charge at all...It just remains at 1%. If the plug accidently is unplugged then it immediately just shuts right down...Also, when I turn it back on after the accidental unplugging the first screen i see is black, and in the upper left corner, in small letters it will read, press F1 for whatever, or F2 for whatever to reboot. I have read many posts from ppl with the same issue that I have, however I am yet to come across a response, suggestion etc that has worked for my laptop. Thanks to You all for taking the time to read my question...I hope that someone out there who has read my cry for help will know just how to remedy this pain in the rear situation
I am using Windows10 and have been for quite some time. Last year when I loaded tax software using the CD/DVD drive everything worked great. I've also used it to load audio CD's to my ipod; however, when I tried to load tax software this year, the software didn't launch so I went to the command prompt to see the directory and get a message saying that the drive isn't ready. Drivers have been reloaded, but still no success. The D: drive is showing in file explorer. Anyone have a solution?
I'm unsure if this is a hardware issue, or a software issue, but I presume software. Extensive Googling and Binging has not turned up a solution. Last night while browsing normally, my Nvidia graphics driver crashed, then recovered successfully. I continued browsing, until the drivers crashed once more about ten minutes later, but did not recover, and my system restarted. Upon attempting to boot normally following a check by the Windows Recovery Tool, my system continued to bluescreen after every boot-up attempt that started Windows. When I attempt to start Windows normally, it will boot normally, get to the "Starting Windows" screen, wait, then crash into a BSoD with the following bugcheck code: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff8800f325698, 0xfffff88003d105b0, 0x0000000000000000). As of now I am able to boot successfully into safe mode, but the Windows Recovery Tool was unable to fix the problem, even after several tries and attempts to roll back to a previous, successful version. I presume this code refers to a graphics issue by the 0x3b code and other previous questions, but the second and third parameters I have no idea about. I have already attempted to uninstall and reinstall my graphics drivers, disable other graphics, sound, and PnP drivers, but so far I continue to get the same bugcheck code after the bluescreen when I restart and attempt to boot normally. I attempted to install the Windows SDK to use the Windows Debugger to analyze the crash dump files, but am unable to uninstall because the program is unable to connect to the Windows Update service, which I presume is disabled in safe mode. Other issues I have noticed are the ASUS start-up screen before the BIOS screen has several, horizontal blue lines across it, which last until the screen flashes to black, at which point red lines appear, then I move onto the BIOS screen which appears normally. I have not noticed this until this problem began to occur last night. I would tremendously appreciate any help, as this has me stumped beyond a solution of just reformatting, or changing out my current graphics card.
Hello All, since last week, I am unable to create any folder/file in all of my external hard disks from my laptop. I am also unable to edit any file directly from laptop into external hard disk. Please suggest what to do? Moreover, there is nothing wrong with external hard disks, I have 4 of them. I use them regularly from home desktop, and they work fine. But, error is in my laptop, I cannot create/copy any folder into any of the hard disks. The same implies with two of my pen drives. Quick help on this will be highly appreciated.
Alright, I don't know all of my PC's specs, but it is on an Acer Aspire Z3-600. I don't know what happened, but I hadn't used it in a while so I went back to it. Then, it came up, and the infamous Windows 10 Blue Screen of Death with the messages SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (CI.dll) or BAD_POOL_HEADER. I can't do anything but go onto my BIOS or else I'll end up with the same BSODs and it'll keep saying "Preparing Automatic Repair" but nothing happens and the cycle starts all over again. I've searched all over the internet and no luck.
Is my only option to upload photos to outside sources is to download them first (obviously using Chrome)? Seems like a waste of space... Considering the cloud is available to my phone and computer (via internet) for alternative programs, how is that my new-ish computer cannot connect to google directly for uploading purposes? Why is it downloaded file specific? I feel as though I'm missing something here...

I absolutely do not want to use Microsoft Edge. Yet Microsoft force me to use it since Windows 10. It's impossible to change it!!!!!! Same goes with web browser html files. Whatever browser i set to open them as default Windows reverts back to Edge. I'm very well aware how to set default apps. But Windows revert back to Edge that I'm in no way even interested to try. Microsoft, if you make it possible to change default apps. Why do you make Windows revert back to something else??? That make absolutely no sense!! Really pissed off!!!!!!!!! :-(
I need to delete multiple Microsoft accounts which I had set-up to help troubleshoot an issue with app installations from the MS Store. I would like to use a single account moving forward, how I do I close the legacy accounts no longer required?
