Speech Recognition: How can I get it to recognise "full stop" as a punctuation mark?

Windows 7

Split from this thread. The Common Commands web page doesn’t tell me how to get ‘full stop’ recognised as a punctuation mark. It says to use ‘period’, ‘dot’, or ‘decimal point’. But it doesn’t recognise the normal British English term ‘full stop’. There ought to be a way of doing that – How do I set up the system to recognise the British ‘full stop’ to mean what Americans call a ‘period’?

Windows 7 TASKBAR missing.

Windows 7

After running Windows 7 for 6 months, decided I wanted my taskbar on the right instead of the left, but when I dragged the TASKBAR from the left side to the right side of the display, the taskbar vanished. I've tried re-booting (by pressing the power button on the PC). And the taskbar is still missing. I tried a right mouse ... Personalize... and selected TASKBAR and START MENU to move the taskbar to the left side, but the taskbar is missing. Also now when I do a right mouse on the desktop... then select Personalize... then select TASKBAR and START MENU... the task bar dialog does not appear. To summarize... all I did to get into this mess was drag the TASKBAR from the left to the right side of the screen and the TASKBAR vanished.

Changing Sound Device by Command Line

Windows 7

I know this sounds lazy, but I change audio output between my PC and TV (HDMI) often. I’m looking for a way to change my default sound device from my desktop with one click. I was thinking of a shortcut linked to a command or batch file. I’ve tried some third party files like SSD.EXE and NIRCMD, but they’re erratic. For example, NIRCMD changes my default to a ‘Default Communications Device’ rather than a ‘Default Device’. I’ve tried a number of switches to the command, but it still doesn’t work. Here’s a view of this: https://minbox.com/app/collections/hZVl0W2/items/XAopotu Does anyone know how I can do this? Regards, John OS: Windows 7

how can I make my homepage revert back to MSN USA or UK from this agressively dominant MSN HK site where there isnt even a Translate or Language tab anywhere in sight? Everything is in Chinese!

Windows 7

I have Windows 7 and use Firefox. I have tried everything I know but still am unable to change my homepage to English version. Its not fair that MSN HK assumes that just because we are in HK that we all know Chinese language. I think this should be looked into thoroughly by MSN centre because this persistent problem might make MSN users turn to other providers, like I too am thinking of doing if I cannot solve this issue.

Multiple Monitors - Infinite Cursor Loop

Windows 7

I have a 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise system running a triple monitor setup, and I want to know if its possible to set the cursor on an infinite loop. Imagine I have my cursor on the left screen. I move it to the right and it passes through the center and right screens. Then, when it crosses the furthest right edge of the right monitor, it appears again at the left edge of the left monitor. -or- (* = cursor) [*1 ][ 2 ][ 3 ] [ 1*][ 2 ][ 3 ] [ 1 ][*2 ][ 3 ] [ 1 ][ 2*][ 3 ] [ 1 ][ 2 ][*3 ] [ 1 ][ 2 ][ 3*] [*1 ][ 2 ][ 3 ] Makes sense?

Changing background changes theme.

Windows 7

So recently, for no discernable reason, my window color changed to bland text boxes from the purple I was using. Clicking it pops up the second image below. Looking at the video on how to change color, this is NOT what should be popping up. There is also no advanced, which is apparently supposed to be there. I tried selecting another theme that already had the color I wanted, but when I try to change the background, It creates a new theme with the same border. Selecting one of the presets also does this. It's also worth noting that even the icon for color is different (first image). Basically, I either get the color I want, or the background I want, but not both.

Windows 7 keeps changing my time!

Windows 7

And that screws up my TV watching and recording. It's very annoying. I've seen the problem here with Vista (though my husband's laptop with Vista never does it) and the only answer relates to the time changing on boot and having to do with the BIOS. Well, my Dell computer with Windows 7 will change time even when it's left on and I checked the BIOS. The BIOS has the right time. When I noticed it tonight (it didn't record Survivor), Win7 said it was 3am. It was 9:15pm. I shut down the computer and checked the BIOS: 9:15pm. I've even set this to automatically update every 4 hours. How did it get to be 3am? Will there be a patch for this Win7 problem? I've tried turning off autosync, changing servers. And for awhile it stayed solid but then changed again! Gabina MSDST

Need a Tweak UI for Windows 7

Windows 7

How about it, developers? The first thing I'd get rid of is are those hideous shortcut arrows on the desktop icons. I haven't seen those on one of my machines since Windows 98 after using Tweak UI all these years. I see a lot of interest in one when I Google for it. Since it's not built in, a reliable Power Toys addition would be most welcome
