Hi, when i first started the performance monitor it was able to collect data and show me any problems but after that its just stuck at "Collecting Data for 60 seconds" and ive been looking at every single website to find a solution but no one seems to know either so please help me.
I recently bought a refurbished Windows 7 computer It has ?trial? versions of Microsoft Office products. When I open any, they insist that Windows hasn't been activated. But it has. ???? I'm not sure whether this should have gone in 'Programs' (where I put it) or 'Download/install/activate', since it's a problem with activation.
Hello community, Yesterday I restored my laptop (Sony) using original factory image (Windows 8.1 x64). After restore I started downloading and installing available updates. Everything was fine after I installed KB2919355 (which is update to Windows Update itself). After restart, Windows Update stopped working (stuck at "Checking for updates..."). So I restored the laptop again, and problem happened again. Any help would be so much appreciated. Omid
I noticed yesterday that my desktop icons had disappeared. As I had just finished a CAD session, I thought perhaps it had to do with RAM fragmentation or some other minor issue and shut down. This evening, when I booted up, I saw the same thing. My desktop icons were missing. Strangely enough, the labels were still present and I could highlight and click on them. Where the icons are supposed to be however, it's just empty space (nothing to click, no selection box, nothing). On the taskbar, Google Chrome, File Explorer and Notepad icons had been replaced by the default 'window' icon. Opening up My Computer and File Explorer resulted in something similar, as you can see below. Missing icons and strange 'bullets' instead of the drop-down arrows. I have gone through several forums, including this one and I have tried all the suggestions and none of them resolved the situation: 1. Ran System File Checker through Command Prompt. I got the message "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations" 2. Rolled back the most recent Windows Updates and restarted the system 3. Checked to make sure Tablet Mode was turned off 4. Adjusted Display Settings 5. Ran a Full System Scan with Kaspersky Internet Suite (all clean) 6. A couple of other suggestions that I can't even remember. What's got me worried is that I thought I would use System Restore to go back to an earlier Restore Point. But when I tried to access it, I got this message: 'There was an unexpected error on the property page. Catastrophic failure (0x8000FFFF). And I can't see any of my Restore Points (I have 4 Restore Points). If anyone has any idea what may be causing this, I would be really interested to hear it. It has not affected my work in any way (so far, thank goodness) but I still want to know what could have caused this. Thanks in advance! PS. This is a new Hard Disk with Windows 10 Home (64-bit) installed on December 22nd, 2016. My system is a HP Pavilion dv7.
Hi, after getting automatic repair loop error, and tried several solutions, even installing linux and failed, I downloaded media creation tool and prepare a windows 10 usb. I formatted old drive for a clean install. when I tried to install windows 10, I got 0x80070002 error after %37. My computer doesn't start. It shows a blue page with an error code 0xc0000034 Thanks for everybody.
I'm trying to find out what specific apps are, an explanation. I don't care to know how to use, it, turn it on, or off, or how to install it. I just what to know what the default apps in Windows 10 are, so I can decide for myself what they are, if I need them, how I can use them in my everyday life, etc.. without having to install them and make guesses as to their intent. a page describing the default Windows 10 apps would be nice., like, what is the Sports app for? I assume it's for following sports. (I don't care for sports or scores, can I remove it?) same with Money, Sway, Weather, etc.. An "About" button, or a "what is this" button would be nice.. and no, searching just brings up how to install it, trouble shoot it, etc.. Am I asking too much?!
Okay, so when i boot up my pc it will not load windows, it tries to run a repair then diagnose the problem before evntually coming up with a blue screen and text saying that the restore didnt work. Ive tried system restore and all that and it wont work, i looked online and found that running the command prompt chkdsk /F may work in fixing the problem. However anytime i try to run chkdsk /f it says that 'Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume becasue it is write protected'. I googled that error and found that a way around that is chkdsk c: /f /r /x. I tried that, and it runs and then says that no problems were found and that no action is needed. However i still cant run chkdsk /f (the same error message comes up) and when i run chkdsk on its own it says that problems were found and to use the /F funtion. Any ideas?
I have problems with opening programs (even cmd will not open) and not connecting to internet. Nothing at this time is accessible. I ran troubleshoot on safe mode and said "Isatap adapter #26 installed" and was searching for it and couple of days no where to be found. Any help is appreciated
What caller's phone number is sensed by the called person when sending an SMS from the tablet through the smartphone by syncing over the Microsoft account?Windows 7
Hi! I will have to send SMS from my tablet through my smartphone by syncing over the Microsoft account and, in order to choose the proper mobile operator for the SIM card and for the data plan of my smartphone, I need to know which of the two phone numbers (the one of the tablet, or the one of the smartphone) is sensed by the receiver of the SMS? If someone would be so kind to enlighten me about that!
Maybe Gerry Cornell will pick up this thread, as I have been running diagnostics provided by him for another user (in another thread). I take it you think I am doing the hijacking. If so, it must be very frustrating for you and I apologise. Even starting this new thread, the forum tried to direct me back to a similar thread, and I have seen people redirecting threads to germane threads... I asked on 11/1/17 in this thread, whether you would look at o/p you had asked for from another user, and you sent instructions about cleanmgr, scannow, DISM, etc. I have the results of this, and system info and system log (which I had already run) on OneDrive, on 11/1/17: 1. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au0IDCoIJf7Ncw7ujIQBLjfs35U (system log) 2. https://1drv.ms/t/s!Au0IDCoIJf7NcoeoAOZLXu2p3yQ (system summary) 1. Result from SFC: NO violations. on 14/1/17: 2. DISM log on OneDrive is: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au0IDCoIJf7NdKZDWMbsoCR4vzQ 3. Troubleshooter: did not find "System and Security" after "View All", but "Windows Update" was there, so used it from there. (If you are interested, screenshot is on OneDrive: https://1drv.ms/w/s!Au0IDCoIJf7NdfBbqWDpb1Vuw6g) 4. I remembered to run as admin and apply repairs automatically, but the response was "Repair Windows Update Corruption" (clearly no fix applied). I've been here before, but too chicken to "Apply this fix", as it sounds as if it's going to re-download ALL updates. While I'm not worried about "download costs", this seems a big step, possibly fraught with danger. Can you please advise? Awaiting reply.
