Getting Error message " Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported"

Windows 7

I just saved a file in MS Paint and then had to re-open it. Now I am getting an error message " Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file or its format is not currently supported". What's up with that? It is a PNG file like all the rest. The 2 things I noticed is that the file size is 3x the size of others I recently made and I also noticed that it was set to open with a picture app - not Paint - so I changed that. It didn't resolve the issue. It did take alot longer to save so I am wondering if it was corrupted somehow... I'd hate to have to remake the dang thing.... any advice? (Sorry about the catagory choice but there wasn't one for MS Paint...)

Blank Screen on HP Envy M6-installed Windows 10 a few months ago

Windows 7

Hello, My screen on my HP Envy m6 has gone blank and I'm not sure of the cause. I downloaded Windows 10 a few months ago but I'm not sure if that's the cause. I checked HP's website but they only have troubleshooting for Windows 8 (for my specific laptop). I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue and if anyone could shed some light on it. When I plug it into an external monitor, it works on the other monitor. It's not always blank, sometimes it has lines in it or one side is black and the other side will be white. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kelly

Problems adding a child on the family account

Windows 7

I am trying to add my child using the Windows 10 Home Family Account settings. I created a gmail account for my child, I went to the Settings->Accounts area, I select Family & other people, I add my child in the family area and invite them by mail. When I open my son's gmail account and I click on the microsoft family link, the browser attempts to go to that web address, and then the browser hangs, and then a minute or two later I get the message" "Give us a little while to fix this Something’s wrong on our side. For now, you may want to try searching for something else." In the Family & other people section of the settings area of Windows 10, the entry for my son's account now reads "Child, Pending". When I check my son's status on https://account.microsoft.com/family#/ I see "Invitation sent to their email. When they accept, they'll join your family." I am getting very frustrated with this situation. This has been going on for two weeks, and two weeks later, this website error is still happening. I would have thought that Microsoft's developers would have been notified of this error by enough automated error reporting incidents that they would have looked into this bug and fixed it. I am not letting my son get on his new laptop until I get this working, and so far he is very disappointed. Does anyone have any idea how I can get past this mail invitation problem?

Administrator account

Windows 7

Hello, I was using the PC with my account that was standard and administrator. Then I have set a different administrator account and took out the administrator privileges to the first account I was using. Now the result is that can't login the administrator account even that the PC recognize the password I have set for this account. When I want to login to the new administrator account and digit the password I don't receive any message of wrong password (I receive this message if I digit the wrong password) but it seems as the account is not really registered and so I can't even use the administrator prompt command to fix the issue or recover something. I think I have not completed the procedure and now I have a administrtor user with a working password but I can't login to it. Strange! Can someone help me. Thank you

Photo Editor

Windows 7

I'm brand new to Windows 10. I just did some photo editing that I am unhappy with, and I want to revert to original. To my surprise, there is no such thing on Windows 10! I've searched for answers, and apparently there is a secret/hidden file that holds the original photo. But I can't seem to find it anywhere. TIA to anyone that can help me!

Clock watchdog timeout - new computer

Windows 7

I suddenly got this bluescreen on my computer, which I bought four months ago! I was simply talking with people in a chat with some windows open, no video, no music, no game, nothing sophisticated running. Although the screen said it would restart, it stayed at 0% for one hour. Eventually I had to do it manually. Will this be happenig often now? My Windows is constantly updating itself (OS is Windows 10). Is there anything I can do to avoid this in the future? My laptop is an Asus (Intel core 13)
