Network problem causes Windows 10 to hang post KB3213986 install - 2 computers

Windows 7

On 2 different months old HP laptops, since the KB3213986 update the computers hang, no mouse access, no keyboard response, following a network access problem, like Windows Media Player streaming from a network attach disk, or, Spotify, Explorer accessing a network resource, Download of update in a program. It seems to be associated with network access time outs. Anyone know of a fix or is this yet another problem with the poor networking support in Windows 10.

Intel HD 4000 Clock Rate issue Windows 7 & Windows 10

Windows 7

Hello everyone, I posted this question at Intel communities and they said to contact microsoft. I have laptop Acer Aspire E1-570, with Core i3 3227u CPU and Intel HD 4000 GPU. So, I have low fps in games when AC power is plugged in (such as Paladins at low settings). I tested with CPUID HWMONITOR and it shows Intel hd 4000 using only 349 Mhz clock rate. But I know it can use up to ~1100 Mhz. Weird thing is what, When I'm playing from battery power it shows 1100 Mhz and fps is normal. But when I plug my AC adapter it goes down to 349 Mhz and stuck there (It doesn't go up back even if I plug out AC power and even after restart). I tested my AC adapter too, and it shows 19 V as needed (It's original adapter). Temperatures is normal too. I tried Windows 10 and Windows 7. It's the same. Power options - High Performance for battery and ac power. (Min and max core clock is 100%) Intel HD settings - High Performance. I tried different versions of Intel HD drivers. Tried Intel Diagnostics tool and it says everything is OK. Tested GPU stress test with FurMark. And again GPU clock rate stuck at 350 Mhz. So, can you give me a good solution for this issue? Note: There is no SpeedStep (EIST) option and any other options in my BIOS and there is no update for my BIOS.

after windows 10 install, Dell Inspiron 15 5000 just stopped recognizing its factory charger, will not charge passed 1% & dies when unplugged

Windows 7

PLEASE HELP... hi my name is holly. I am hoping that someone can help me solve this issue...Its become quite the hassle not having access to my laptop when Im on the go...It will only work when plugged in. When its plugged in though, it does not charge at all...It just remains at 1%. If the plug accidently is unplugged then it immediately just shuts right down...Also, when I turn it back on after the accidental unplugging the first screen i see is black, and in the upper left corner, in small letters it will read, press F1 for whatever, or F2 for whatever to reboot. I have read many posts from ppl with the same issue that I have, however I am yet to come across a response, suggestion etc that has worked for my laptop. Thanks to You all for taking the time to read my question...I hope that someone out there who has read my cry for help will know just how to remedy this pain in the rear situation

Quickest way to reset permission of files on an imported drive

Windows 7

I have had to reinstall Windows (10 now) after almost 10 years. So I have a huge number of files on different drives with security setting as they were on the original installation. I need to reset these to be able to use them with the new installation. I have tried to take ownership in the usual way (through explorer GUI) but it has been running for over 24 hours and it is still not done. On top of that it keeps coming up with notifications of not having found a particular file or some other prompt. So I have to keep clicking on continue just to keep the process going. This must be a frequent issue for a lot of Administrators on networks or even local machines so I am assuming that there is a shortcut to getting access to an imported drive and all its files. Even if it means giving Full control to Everyone or even Anonymous. I have comes across articles about Takeown and ICACLS commands but I am not sure if they will be any quicker or suitable to continue without above referred promptings. Could some one provide an answer to my problem or refer me to the relevant knowledge base article. Thank you.

Eccentric Japanese font display in some applications

Windows 7

Hi: I just purchased a new computer that came with a clean installation of the latest version of Windows 10. It is only different from my previous configuration in that on that computer I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10, and my new computer has a 4K display (which has been known to cause some applications difficulty fond rendering and scaling. This would not appear to be one of those problems). In my mail application, for example kanji use a mincho font, while kana use gothic. For those who don't read Japanese, that's something like some words appearing in Ariel with others using Times Roman. It's readable, but of course weird. I have seen this in some Word documents I've received, but not in documents I create in Japanese. Does anyone have a clue what's going on here? I know that Win 10 relies on a different font display scheme than Win 8.1, but my older computer displays everything normally. All advice appreciated! DGI

Been getting BSODs.

Windows 7

As mentioned above, I recently bought a PC and been getting weird BSODs with messages like "Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap" and "Kernel Security Check Failure. I have been reading up on things and eventually did a Driver Verifier and i was hit with a "Driver Verified Detected Violation". As I have no idea how to read .dmp files I have no idea what the corrupted driver is. This is the link to the .dmp file : https://www.dropbox.com/s/98yytmu1kwrvmac/012017-4750-01.dmp?dl=0 Thank you in advance.
