My 30in Insignia TV as the second display won't display the whole page. 3 edges are beyond the screen. My mouse goes out of sight on all edges except the one shared with my laptop. I use the HDMI cable for input from my new Dell laptop running Windows 8. How can I adjust the screen size?

Original Title: Windows 8.1 Duplicate Screen not working/zoomed in? I need help,I've been going round in circles for 2 hours trying to figure this out. Basically I want to duplicate/mirror my HP Pavilion Windows 8.1 monitor onto my LG Smart TV,I know the TV is setup for this as we have tested it with my stepdads laptop which is the same, and his duplicate screen works fine. However every time I try to connect something crazy happens to my screen... It zooms into a ridiculous level and makes my screen really small, nothing shows on the TV at all! The TV is recognized in the devices and everything just the duplicate display will not work,I haven't touched any display settings since I've had my laptop. Any fixes/people with the same problem who have solutions?
I just wanted to ask whether there is any way to receive Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, Skype, Facebook, Twitter notifications. I don't use the startup screen as I have a home pc and there is no need for me to enter my password every time I start my pc. Also I do not use the Windows 8 Start Screen and straight away jump to Desktop. Is there any app or windows setting that will notify me of new emails or facebook messages all at once without me having to check all of them individually?
Hi guys, I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro and I installed the Windows 8.1 update 1 last night. Everything works well except that I find it is much harder to get the auto-hided taskbar. Before the update 1 I can easily got it by pressing the edge of the screen or letting the stylus aim there but now the taskbar could not appear no matter how I press the screen. I can only uncheck the auto-hide checkbox now. Is this a bug or some settings that I did not find can change the situation? Sincerely, Yuan
Hi, at the moment we are preparing the win 8.1 rollout in our environment. Now we tried to customize the lock screen image. There we are facing the issue that the image does not get correctly resized to different screen resolutions. Therefore we are using a image with a resolution of 2160x1440 pixels. Does anybody have an idear how tho fix this ? Thanks in advanced, Thomas
Hi I have asked how to change my screen name which is displayed on the opening page above the password box. Unfortunately I must have spelt the name incorrectly at the shop I purchased the tablet from. I followed the instructions indicated on the Microsoft website; but this has not helped. Can anyone help to resolve this issue, please?
I am trying to change my region settings and for some reason it will not open for me- not when I click on it or when I try to right click and choose open. I have even tried accessing by changing the options in the control panel from category settings to large icons and the same issue. All other options on the control panel will open- this is the only one that will not open. Is there a way to fix this?
Am I able to change the Start Screen tiles color to maybe follow my theme color or something? Looking at all those differently colored tiles is giving me a headache. Maybe something like Windows 8 where all the tiles is one color. Thanks in advance!
My son bought a Dell all in one Windows 8.1 machine. It looks like the OS thinks that this is a tablet. For example, when moving the mouse to the top of the screen, the mouse turns to a hand rather than displaying the X and -. I can't find any setting to tell the OS that the machine is really a desktop. Any ideas will be appreciated. Regards, Tim
Hi All, I found that the "region" inside the control panel cannot be opened in desktop mode. However, there is no problem in Metro mode. I did the sfc /scannow without any error prompted, also tried to boot up the PC with microsoft softwares only but did not have a positive result. Would there be any solution to this problem? (Note: I do not want to recover the whole system since I have many softwares installed already) Thanks
