Windows 10 app Royal Revolt keeps installing itself.

Windows 8.1

When I install windows I instantly delete store etc. because I don't want their auto-installed apps and adds. I have nothing to do with windows apps. In this case, I deleted store and every other thing, but I keep getting a royal revolt app icon in start menu, it tries to install itself but it can't then I click uninstall it dissappears. It appears again after a while. I want to learn; what installs that app? I don't have store. Which process installs it? I disabled some scheduled tasks and I disabled some services but nothing helps.

What hardware config does Windows 10 check when installing

Windows 8.1

Hi, I run Windows 10 in a VM on my Mac with Parallels. All is working fine but I want to change to VM Ware. When I migrated the VM with the VMWare migration tool Windows 10 runs terribly slow so I want to do a fresh installation. In order to do a fresh installation I need to make sure the hardware profile (things like MAC address) are the same or Windows 10 will assume this is new hardware and require a new license. My question is: What serial numbers etc does Windows 10 check when determining if the hardware has changed? If I know these I can copy them over to VM Ware Fusion and do the installation. I have heard that only the Motherboard is checked - but what is it looking for when checking the Motherboard? Thanks for your help Bryon

MoBo change, standalone windows license, no reinstall possible?

Windows 8.1

Changing from socket 1155 to fm2+. Same 64-bit os. Windows license is not tied to anything, i have changed mb for a few times in the past (i remember i reinstalled the os). If Windows will boot and will recognize the new hardware what will happen with the current license. Is it linked with the old mb device and will be a license issue? I have windows 10, but it is upgraded from windows 7. The first right step is to reinstall windows 7?

Lastpass password manage in Edge

Windows 8.1

Have had windows 10 since available. Tried windows Edge and liked it. When extensions became available I installed Lastpass Password manager. When opening Edge a second tab opens automatically asking to log in or create account. As I already have account I log in and ask Lastpass to save my email and password, this then shows a warning that it may not be safe and I click save anyway. When I close Edge, even for a minute and try to open again the same message appears asking me to login. Lastpass will NOT save my login details regardless of me asking. I have contacted Lastpass several months ago and they tell me their engineers are working on it. I have contacted Microsoft who say there is no problem with Lastpass. Until they can both get their heads together I will not use Edge. Has anyone else had this problem?.

Win 10 Lenovo laptop causes wifi instability

Windows 8.1

I have a brand new Lenovo IdeaPad 510 with Win 10 automatically updated. Through trial and error, I have discovered it is affecting my wi-fi network with Win 7, iPad, iPhone or Android mobile devices. Intermitently, the network stops working. No device can connect out. It recovers every few minutes, then it fails again. Once I disconnect Win 10 PC, everything works perfectly, all the time. I have searched various solutions, diagnostics, turning off firewall, virus protection, changing networking options for wi-fi adapter, all to no avail. Surely by now such a Win 10 issue would have had a fix, though I can't find it. Anyone with definite answers on how to resolve this Win 10 wi-fi problem.

Turn off Screen While still Working with PC- For Blinds and Visually Impaired

Windows 8.1

I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the laptop screen while still working on it, since in my case the screen in useless since I am blind, and this would save me much battery to use my laptop without a need for recharging it during the day. There is this feature in android and iOS phones, where when you turn on the accessibility feature, you can still use the phone and touch screen, while the screen is Dark Black (Off). In the case of laptop, it is working when I connect the PC into projector or another screen, the laptop screen goes off, while still can use the touch features. What I care much about, is turning the screen dark (off) while still working on the pc using voice assistant software.

Unknown Executable Windows Can't Find On Startup - But Neither Can I!!!!

Windows 8.1

Hi, I'm new to the community so hope this first appeal for help makes sense...... Shortly after running an AVG antivirus scan on my PC recently (PC is Windows 7 / 64 Bit) I started getting message on startup saying Windows cannot find uBWxstfOzZ.exe. I'm pretty sure the O is capital letter O and not Zero. I can just OK this message and there appears to be no noticeable adverse effects on the running of my PC. It's just an irksome thing every time you start up to get spurious error messages, so I would like to resolve it and get rid of whatever is causing it. I read that antivirus programs will sometimes quarantine a virus but leave behind the shortcut to the executable file and therefore Windows keeps looking for it on startup as a possible explanation, so I used Msconfig and went into the Startup tab to see if anything resembling this file name was there - nothing. I then downloaded a little free app called Autoruns - very good, but again it failed to find or identify the location of the .exe file above. And clearly simply doing a file search in Windows from the root of c:/ does not find it either. If anyone out there has any ideas on this, please drop me a reply. Thanks.

Anyone know if Edge will become available for Android?

Windows 8.1

Does anyone know if there's any plans to bring Microsoft Edge browser to the Android platform? The reason is that Microsoft Edge is the only mobile browser that supports the h.265 video codec, and that alone makes me wish Microsoft Edge was available for the Android platform. If someone could please help maybe shed some light on the subject, it would be much appreciated. Thanks. Moved from Community Participation Center Original title: Microsoft Edge browser
