I need it to read a pdf document or a web page using narrator

Windows 8

Original title: narrator Is there an update for narrator for Windows 8 X64 because i can not get it to read ANYTHING! It will say my key strokes or open window or disable, disable, but it will not READ! very frustrating. I am not blind, but my eyesight is poor, so I thought i would give it a try, but I can't get it to read anything important. It will read a header or keystrokes (which I don't need) I need it to read a pdf document or a web page.

Task Bar is Transparent?

Windows 8

Hi, I'm currently using windows 8 and the task bar is ALWAYS transparent. It's extremely distracting as I often need to have more than one word document or PDF file open at a time. I can see parts of the words in the task bar and it looks like it's malfunctioning (even though it isn't). I have already tried by changing the color in the personalization nonsense. All it does is make the colors painfully bright/intense and does not solve the issue of translucency. How can I turn this OFF? Windows 7 used to let me.... This is driving me crazy.

Cannot personalise lock screen - locked by "group policy" - but I'm the administrator?

Windows 8

Hi, I cannot change the lock screen on my computer. It runs Windows 8 and whenever I try to change it it won't let me click anything and says that some settings have been disabled by group policy. However, there are no other users on this computer, and the account I use is the administrator. It only started displaying this about two months after I first got the computer. I'd like to change my lock screen because my current custom background is white and it makes it difficult for me to see the time and notifications. What should I do?

Can't change lockscreen, startscreen or even account picture.

Windows 8

I used to use Windows 8 but I upgraded my RAM so I have to install a new Windows 8 Pro At the first installation, I was able to change everything Until the second installation, which was done by some random IT guy at the store, I wasn't able to change the Personalize tab. It was kind weird, when I opened my laptop when I was home, I logon my Microsoft account, then I saw my old lockscreen, which I changed it before the second installation, and my avatar. And somehow I just can't change my account picture, lockscreen or even startscreen. http://imgur.com/LXvxZgC I tried to find the solutions, but nothing match with my problem. Can anyone help me ?

i don't want to use the lock screen on Windows 8. US holidays on Calendar,

Windows 8

hi there, does anyone know if it is possible to disable the lock screen feature of Windows 8. i don't want or need to use it and it's irritating to have to sign into my own home computer every time i want to use it. i've spent a while trying to sort it out but can't find anything. also, I'm English not American and don't even live in the UK (or US) and i can't find how to set UK or local public holidays on Calendar. is this possible. lastly, more techno-creepiness, not from Google this time or even Avast (know's i'm English). just looked at my lock screen this morning and it's displaying my wife's name in a way i never would have recorded it plus her birthday, how does Windows know we have a connection and what idiot system designer thought i'd like to see her birthday notification without me personally recording the event on calendar. i hope techno-creepiness is not going to get worse in the future. anyway if anyone has some sensible replies to my two questions, thanks in advance.

Blurry programs on Windows 8.1

Windows 8

Hi, I have had windows 8.1 for a couple months now, and am now experiencing some new issues regarding blurry screen text. I had these issues with Google Chrome (fixed them), and now Office 365 and other Windows programs like control panel, file navigator window are now with blurry text. I noticed this after disconnecting from a external screen via HDMI, so that might have something to do with it but I cannot figure it out. Any help appreciated thanks
