Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite P875-323 and Windows 10. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 in the summer and all was great until a bit before Christmas when it suddenly went from starting up in seconds, to taking about 30 mins to 1 hour to function properly at normal speed. I checked for updates on various drivers and some were then updated - it didn't improve startup from a restart, but did improve the time it took to come back to life after closing the lid. Then I went onto the Intel website where there was a link which is supposed to check the correct drivers for your computer and download the right ones, and it downloaded a further Intel HD 4000 update... and now restart is just as slow, after closing the lid it has gone back to taking ages to get back up to speed, and Microsoft Edge doesn't respond at all (literally, it doesn't even seem to know I've clicked it, so I am back to using Internet Explorer). Any ideas? Can there be a link between the Intel update and inability to use Edge, or is that more likely to just be a coincidence? And if I uninstall the new Intel HD 4000 driver, will the screen still work if I restart the computer without it before reinstalling it? I don't know much about these things and rightly or wrongly I'm nervous of uninstalling something like that. Any help would be appreciated... Thank you!
I have an HP p2-1394 desktop PC that came with Windows 8.0. Recovery disks were made shortly after getting the PC. It was upgraded to 8.1 without issue. Someone accidentally wiped out my hard drive. I attempted a restore from the DVDs that were made but the system would not boot from it. I then downloaded and created an evaluation version of 8.1 and installed that. I attempted to use the recovery disks again and they will not work because they are not bootable. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can recover this system?
CD -ROM doesn't work. put in disc and nothing happens. After troubleshooting got this message: ( hp DVD-RAM GH60L SATA Cdrom device has a driver problem + microsoft teredo tunneling adapter has a driver problem). Is there a fix for this or just get a new computer?
My surface pro 4 windows crashed yesterday and I did a reboot. since then, the Windows Boot Manager pops up every time I start my surface pro. I only have 1 OS, and I open the System Configuration window, in the Boot tab, there is only one OS in the list - Windows 10 (C:WINDOWS); Current OS; Default OS. And the Set as default button is grey out. I even rest my system last night, but the issue remains the same. How can I get rid of the Windows Boot Manager when booting the Surface? Thank you.
Running Windows 10 Home on an HP Envy 15t Laptop Hi, Since I've had my laptop I've been unable to sign into any Microsoft services. Every time I get asked for my credentials, I'll sign in and get stuck at a "Please Wait..." screen or receive some kind of error message. It's been mildly frustrating, but I've never needed to sign into my account on this PC. Well, now I have to access the Xbox app in order to turn off the Game DVR, but I'm unable to do this without signing into my MS account. I've tried diagnosing the problem and haven't been able to come up with anything using Microsoft's built-in troubleshooting software, but I've discovered that not being able to sign in isn't my only problem. I checked to see if any updates have gone through recently and lo and behold, my pc has logged all of its updates as "Failed to install." My best guess is that something is restricting Windows from communicating with Microsoft's servers, but I have no idea what it would be. I'd be happy to post any log files if they would help someone figure this out. Any help here is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nate
I need a formula for an excel invoice template. I have 2 items that are not taxable. It automatically add it up at the bottom, yet it shows tax at 8.25%, which is correct for all items except 2. I need it to not add those two items for taxes. What can I do?
Hi. A few months ago my computer was running very slow, so I decided to reset it. I was running windows 10 home and reset it to factory settings. I set it back up, but when setting it up, it asked me for a windows key. I decided to wave it off and continue to set up. Now it says at the bottom of my screen to activate windows and I also lost Office and each time I sign in it prompts me to activate windows. Will I have to go out and buy another windows 10 product key and Office??? Thanks in advance, Zach
My son turned off my Asus laptop while it was updating after it had been powered down for 3 months. I cannot get to do anything but a loop always ending in error. The Asus rep thinks the operating system needs to be reinstalled, then quoted me $260! I purchased the laptop brand new in Sept 2014. Originally it was Windows 8 but I did the free upgrade to 10 when it came available. My F9 screen let me know the operating system is Windows 8.x. I've tried downloading the Windows 8.1 and 10 recovery to a usb flash drive on my Vista desktop, laptop recognized it's there but it's not booting it or prompting install. I'm only worried about saving my photos but I'm clueless on how to fix this? Help!
