Libraries & Photo Gallery not working

Windows 8

Asked
Asked by: Dusky04

I have a 3 week old Dell Inspiron SE, 64 bit, and the Windows Libraries have never worked. A box appears saying I can safely delete it & folders included will not be affected. I want them to work. Is there a link I could reinstall them? If so, do I have to uninstall the old one because I do not see them listed in the Programs of the Control Panel?

Photo Gallery also doesn't work...Error Code #0x8007000b appears. How can I reinstall this?

This really is ridiculous that they have not worked straight out of the box. I thank you though for always providing help!

To fix the WMP12 Library:-

Before proceeding make sure Windows Media Player is not running.

1.Press [CTRL]+[ALT]+[TAB] buttons to launch Task Manager.

2.Click on Services tab.

3.Scroll down to WMPNetworkSvc.

[Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service or,WMPNetworkSvc.ItShares Windows Media Player libraries to other networked players and media devices using Universal Plug and Play]

4.Right click on it and select Stop Service.

5.Open Computer.

6 Click Tools.

7.Click Folder options

8.Click View tab

9.Select Show hidden files, folders and drives.

10.Click OK/Apply.

11.Navigate to “c:Users”your username”AppDataLocalMicrosoftMedia Player.

12.Delete the files named CurrentDatabase_***.wmdb and LocalMLS_*.wmdb

13.Start WMPNetworkSvc (just the similar way you stopped the service earlier)

14.Restart Windows Media Player

To fix the Photo Gallery problem:-

Uninstall and reinstall Windows Live Photo Gallery
