Windows 10 Update KB3213986

Windows 8

Since Win 10 Update KB3213986 was installed, I have the following issues: 1. Everything seems to run extremely SLOW!! Trying to sign-in to my MSN Account takes forever (10-20 minutes). 2. Can't sign into my Microsoft Solitaire Collection Account. 3. Everything associated with a Microsoft Log-in just runs extremely SLOW. 4. Lost my Update History under the Start>Settings>Updates selection. If I use just Internet Explorer or Firefox, things seem to be a lot faster. Any thoughts???

Windows 10 System Stuck

Windows 8

Hi, My Windows 10 sometimes stuck at the "Welcome" screen, the loading icon keeps going but the desktop never came up. Hard disks SMART all read good and HDD LED doesn't flash when it's stuck. Num Lock works fine. I've tried re-installing and fixing the system, but it didn't help. Safe mode didn't help as I remember. The version is Windows 10 Pro x64 14393.447 (Not sure if it's changed after recent update). Hibernation and fast boot are turned off. Then I followed the instruction in https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-update/20876-window-10-ver-1607-anniversary-update-various-issues-findings.html#post164094, and the reproduction chance of this issue is greatly reduced. But after recent update, the issue became serious again. At the mean time, I set up auto-login on my system. Now after login, user applications all start up fast and fine, but system applications, services and calls aren't responding. For example, Task Manager doesn't start and times out; Event Viewer doesn't, either; I can run cmd.exe fine, but it doesn't start and times out if I start it with administrator privilege; Same for Notepad++; If a user application calls some system calls, for example, Save As window, it will stuck. Once it worked fine after I hard reset the PC, I saw the following logs in the Event Viewer: Service timed out registering DCOM: {21F282D1-A881-49E1-9A3A-26E44E39B86C}{B91D5831-B1BD-4608-8198-D72E155020F7}App.AppX85gcbw533amccd2rr8qswxymhfj649t2.mca{3185A766-B338-11E4-A71E-12E3F512A338}{4991D34B-80A1-4291-83B6-3328366B9097} Service hang during boot: Background Intelligent Transfer ServiceDelivery Optimization Activate application failed, application didn't start in time. This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. It seems that there's some kind of kernel lock-up when this issue happens. Questions: 1. What's DCOM? Why is it causing so much error? 2. Is any other debug information I can provide to solve this issue completely? 3. Is anything I can do except re-installing OS, disabling start up items, etc? I hope this issue can still be recovered after a long wait (maybe 15 minutes), so the system can be functional again in order for me to do more debug work or provide you more details. Otherwise I had to re-install the OS again and wait for this issue gradually comes up again. This issue troubles my daily work a lot because it just makes worried if I can work on this PC on the next morning. Thx.

What happeded to windows explorer in windows 10

Windows 8

I have a Multiple drive system and when I upgraded to 10 from 7pro I only have a file explorer. The other versions I had all had Windows explorer, that listed the drive letter file folder and file. Now in Windows 10 the file explorer don't have the drive letter just the file name, so now after all the years of getting the files I can't just pull up the file and copy it to a different drive like a portable drive. What happened to the Windows drag and drop and the drive letters so you can copy files easy ?

Windows 10 startup issue

Windows 8

Just recently Iv been having issues with windows 10, Iv been running it to quite some time but this morning when I went to start up windows, it took a long time. I was able to get to the login page, after entering in my credentials. It loaded a black screen with a cursor, however this is not the case every time, I restarted my computer forcefully and the next time it displayed my desktop but never fully finished booting and my task bar was missing things such as the clock, if I tried to click anything explorer would crash, I cannot access safe mode, or do anything within the login page without windows freezing up. I'm not sure if this is a virus or something else. Iv tried other related posts but nothing works

window 10 upgrade

Windows 8

I missed the time limit on my second computer as I kinda forgot about due to a wind storm that took down trees in my area on july 4 and 5 and spent the next 2 months after work and weekends cutting trees to get place cleaned up and getting power back and repairs done to house. Is there anyway to still upgrade for free?

Only my laptop is disconnected to the internet.

Windows 8

Hi, so recently my Asus laptop is being disconnected to the Wi-Fi and it's only my laptop. Other devices are still connected while my laptop isn't. I tried the windows troubleshooter and resetting my modem but the problem isn't solved. I did netsh wlan report and one of the most reason why I've been disconnected is 'The network is disconnected by the driver'. I have updated my network driver yet the problem happens still. I tried my phone pocketwifi and this problem does not occur only on my Wi-Fi this happens. I am completely clueless and need help. Thanks :)

All icons gone after Display Scaling on second display. Cant open any Properties.

Windows 8

DxDiag pastebin Whenever I connect my TV as a second display, scaling sets automatically. After restarting, all icons are missing and I'm unable to open the properties of any file. I've set a restore point prior to changing the display scaling, and no other action causes this problem. I'm guessing that something is causing my profile to lose permissions, but it doesn't make sense when all I'm doing is connecting a display. My main display is an acer xb270h connected by displayport, and my second is a Samsung un55ks8000f connected by HDMI. I've used this setup on Windows 8.1 for over a year with no issue, but after upgrading to 10 I can't use my computer on my TV without losing functionality. Is there a known issue with multiple monitors? Is it a bug in the display scaling? I want to finally upgrade, but would it just be better to go back to 8.1? A reddit users's desktop with the same issue Reddit post of same issue unsolved This is the only other instance I've found of this issue, dated Jan 9, 2017.
