Why Russian Yandex spamming search is inserted in microsoft product?

Windows 8

Hi Microsoft, Yesterday I updated Windows 10 and today I found Yandex and Vkontakte among proposed resources on start page of your Edge web browser product. Over last 5-7 years I'm considering broad expansion of this search service and concomitant malware (with potentially spying purposes in present or in future) which is proposed for use by many software solutions which are downloaded from the web. The problem is that mail.ru, yandex.ru, vkontakte etc. are Russian resources controlled and monitored by Russian Intelligence to gather information about interests and habits of people over the world and probably used among other methods an purposes for hacking and violation of recent US President Election process. These search and social services produce malware or unwanted software such as Yandex Browser or Browser Manager, which are installed as concomitant apps during different software installations, being more or less integrated within these software solutions and their installers, and more or less hided during the installation process. This fact allows them to circumvent regular PC user, which usually doesn't want to install this stuff. So I was very disappointed and suspicious when I first saw these resources proposed in your Edge web browser. I removed them in the past and now I saw them again. What is this? Earlier you offered your own bing search engine. Now the default search engine in Ukrainian Windows 10 version is Russian Yandex. We are in war now. Why offering Russian services for Ukrainian users? Actually I can switch off Yandex from default search engine in Edge but can't delete it permanently from Edge so I can see it always in the browser's preferences. This is suspicious. Moreover, this is outraging. Why so tight integration, Microsoft? I think this is a part of Russian agenda for spying people in countries of their interests and someone or a group of Russians working in your company contribute to that in this way. I believe you can offer better search engines as default over there. Let Russia spy their people but not Ukrainian or other countries. If I'm wrong about spying (I believe I'm not), then I just don't want to see Yandex and Vkontakte anymore on the start page or as default resources in your products. And I believe many our nationals don't want that as well. So please remove Yandex and Vkontakte for us from your browser etc. because they at least make us nervous. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Roman

W10 slow Video

Windows 8

This AM video on Microsoft Games (advertisement video), Facebook (imbedded video), and YouTube all slowed to a crawl. As a user slow logon as an Admin and video is OK. Rebooted everything, modem, router, computer and checked internet speed (almost 100 Mb/sec). Did an internet search but all the answers are years old... checked them anyway. Intel video display adaptor driver is up to date. I am sure it is W10 as all my Mac and iPad stream video correctly and W10 with admin privilege functions well.

'Doy' DVD Drive does not play DVD

Windows 8

Hi all I am using Windows 10 and I have purchased a Doy external DVD Drive. Whenever I put a DVD into the drive the pc recognises it, and opens up the wondows movie player which says I need to enter a DVD Movie. When I go to file explorer I can open the folder to look at the files, but often when I right click onto the folder my pc crashes. The company's instructions say that it "is not fully compatible with computers with windows 10 system due to the compatibility issues between windows 10 itself and the external hardware's". This seems to be a problem with every single external DVD Drive that I can buy! Any ideas anyone? Thanks Mark

Long delay at the login screen

Windows 8

When I boot up my laptop there's a long delay before I can type in the password. By long delay, about 1-2 minutes. During this delay, the login screen is blue and is completely unresponsive. I can't click on anything on the screen except for the turn off at the bottom. The keyboard appears to be responsive - caps lock/num lock lights go on and off. Sometimes it goes back to the welcome screen with some picture. Then after about 1-2 minutes it suddenly starts working and I can type in my password at which point everything appears to work normally.

Windows 10 won't shut down or sleep

Windows 8

So I've been having a couple issues with Windows 10 on my new computer that I've never had on any other computer, Windows won't shut down or sleep properly, when I press shutdown it goes to the teal screen and says shutting down, then the screen and everything goes black, but the computer itself is still on and running and I have to do a hard shut off by holding down the power button, it does the exact same thing when I try putting it in sleep mode as well. I've tried turning off fast boot, checking that the shutdown lid is set to shutdown, I can't figure it out

Tried closing down 3 times but it did not initiate a safe start, just back to the screen saver. I can not acces the computer and seen nothing on line to help

Windows 10 Invalid After Computer Upgrade

Windows 8

So this first started about a year and a half ago or so. I've been tolerant of it so far, but now it's really getting frustrating- my first computer had Windows 8.1 installed on it when I first bought it- everything worked fine, it was a genuine copy of windows, etc. Of course, it was a Hewlett-Packard, and my brother insisted I upgrade my computer- faster performance, easier managing, so I went along with it. My computer parts arrived later that month, but before that, both he and I installed the free Windows 10 update. When I upgraded to Windows 10, everything worked exactly as it should- everything was fine, everything was perfect, but then we started to build my computer, and instead of buying a new hard-drive and a new version of Windows 10, (I'm sorry, we're tight on money- we can't afford to buy another Windows Product Key, really, we can't) we just put the hard-drive from my Hewlett-Packard into my new computer- that way I could start from where I left off, same files and the same familiarity I had with it before, and so we wouldn't have to scrape for money for a new product key. Upon putting the hard-drive in my computer, we were more focused on the fact that it would work and do what I needed it to- it did, and it was perfectly fine, until after I started using it, I noticed something was awry. On the bottom-right hand corner of my screen, I have a permanently irremovable watermark telling me to activate Windows as soon as possible, and it has locked me out of a few features that now, are starting to bug me. The only features I'm being locked out of are only personalization features. While the personalization features aren't that big of a problem, the watermark IS. It gets in the way of a lot of things that I do, and it'd just be really great if it were gone. So, naturally, I tried to activate Windows- and it wants my product key. So, I looked around, and looked for the Product Key on my Hewlett-Packard, only to find that, there isn't one there. I showed my brother, and there certainly wasn't one there, to be sure. I eventually found the key, and I entered it in, only for Windows to tell me it's an invalid product key, and Windows is still unactivated to this day. Windows 8.1 was a genuine copy on my Hewlett-Packard, and it was even a genuine copy AFTER I installed the free Windows 10 upgrade- only until after the hard-drive was changed did it think it was a non-genuine copy. My brother keeps saying he'll buy a new hard-drive and get a new product key, but I really don't want to spend money for something dumb like this- we're already in some financial issues, and we really don't have any to waste trying to activate Windows even though it came with the computer that the hard-drive was from. He also keeps saying that if worse comes to worse, we'll have to call Microsoft and have them activate a new product key, and I will stress the reason above again- we really don't have the money for it. The watermark is tolerable, and has been for a long time, but now I'm just getting sick of it, and I want it out. I'd also like to have complete access over what I paid for- buying another product key to get rid of a measly watermark and restore very minor features to Windows 10 isn't enough reason to spend money on, so I'll finally ask the big question: Is there something that can be done about this that doesn't involve me buying another key? Am I stuck with this, or is there something I'm overlooking? Should I just accept that I'm stuck with it and deal with it? Or is there some better way to get Windows back to a legitimate copy, as it was when I bought it? Thanks for reading, any help would be greatly appreciated.
