HP scan and capture

Windows RT

Hi I have installed the HP scan and capture app but when I start it , it says no device selected . When I try to manually find the printer that is connected via USB , an HP Deskjet 3050 j 610, it does not find it . However I know the Surface can see the printer because I can print from it, and even scan it from it using what seems to be a pre-installed 'scan' app. However that app only scans 1 page at a time so 10 page doc would have to be scanned into 10 separate docs. Also it does not offer a PDF output. The original disc for the printer pre-dates Windows 8.... is this likely to be the problem for the scanning even tho it prints ok? Or is more fundamentally to do with finding the device. I have switched the printer off and on again whilst connected etc.

Windows RT unable to locate wireless printer

Windows RT

I have a new Surface Windows RT (not 8.1) and I'm unable to connect to my existing wireless printer over my home wireless network. The printer (Brother MFC-J625JW) is listed as a Windows RT compatible printer by both Microsoft and Brother. My printer is on, visible to my Windows 7 laptop via the wifi network, and works normally. The Surface is connected to the same network. I've entered the Windows Control Panel > Add a device. The printer doesn't appear in the list. In fact, the only thing that (momentarily) appears in the list is someone else's PC - but not my printer. How do I get the Surface to find my wireless printer that appears to be working normally from other devices and is on the same wireless network? Thanks.

I am unable to print over WIFI on my Surface RT using my Canon PIXMA MX452 Printer but can print through USB.

Windows RT

I am unable to print over WIFI on my Surface RT. The printer is recognized and I am able to print when connected via USB. According to the Canon support page, Windows RT is supported through an app (which I have downloaded) but in the app, it shows the printer as offline when not connected via USB. Am I missing something? Any help is greatly appreciated! Original title: Canon PIXMA MX452

Printing from my Surface to my HP Officejet 8500 A909a Printer

Windows RT

windows rt officejet 8500 A909a I am trying to use my HP Officejet 8500 A909a printer on my Surface rt. My devices list shows the printer, but indicates it is not compatible with this version of Windows. I check the Microsoft site for compatibility for this printer and it shows it is compatible. I have tried to vote that it is not compatible, and my vote never registers. What gives. Is this printer supported in RT or not? If it is supported, how do I configure it? Thanks, Bill

Microsoft Wedge mouse does not function properly on Windows RT.

Windows RT

Original title : Wedge Touch Mouse with Windows RT on VivoTab RT Hello, everyone. I've got MS Wedge Mouse to use it with ASUS VivoTab RT, so It has some problems. The main one is permanent lagging of pointer movement. I think it is a problem of drivers, because it lags more when some process is performing (web page is loading, for example). But even more interesting thing is that lags become extremely huge when I plug-in the charging cord to the tablet. It's important to say that another Bluetooth mouse of another vendor doesn't have this issue. Of course it has no touch kinetic scrolling but it costs 5 times cheaper and works completely fine! Hope somebody has solution for this problem. Thanks. UPD: it seems that problem is caused by Broadcom Wi-Fi adapter. Turning Wi-Fi off stops pointer lagging but leaves you without connection =) Changing adapter's properties doesn't give any result.

Unable to stop install the shared printer on main computer

Windows RT

*Original Title: Prevent windows rt trying to install printers I've got a Lumia 2520. Love it to bits and it's a great system, but I have one major nag with it that's driving me nuts. I'm not major technical but know my way around the basics, but for the love of god (insert relevant religious idol where required) I cannot get it to STOP trying to install a shared printer on my main PC. It's a brother HL2130, I know it's not compatible but every week my devices list in the metro menus lists about 20 instances of this printer as not compatible. I remove them all and they all re-appear bit by bit. I've turned off the automatically install network connected devices in the homegroup options, I don't want to turn off the printer sharing because it's not native network and other people in the home use it through my pc. I just want to turn off the automatic network installation on the Lumia 2520. It's driving me nuts and I need someone who knows more than me!!

Can't find Insert key on Dell XPS 10 tablet with docking keyboard

Windows RT

Original Title: Windows RT Question I have a Dell XPS 10 tablet with docking keyboard. I can't seem to locate an "Insert" key anywhere on it. I use a Remote Connection which has a login screen that requires the Ctrl-Alt-Insert key sequence to initiate. Searched high & low online and off. Just don't find a way to generate the Insert key stroke in this environment on this tablet. Anyone have the answer?
