I have a Surface Pro 3. I set it to use the DVORAK keyboard layout as default. Under the original Windows 10, every time I used to login, it would reset to using the QWERTY keyboard, and I would have to hit "WIN+SPACE" to switch when I log in. It started working correctly and maintaining my preference on login. After the Anniversary update, it broke again. I did a full reformat of my machine and installed only the DVORAK keyboard during setup. It worked fine for a couple of weeks, but now Windows is adding the QWERTY keyboard and setting it as the default when I login again. I know that it isn't the end of the world to have to switch keyboards when I login, but it is annoying (and speaks poorly about MS quality). Is there a setting or registry key where I can stop this from adding and switching to QWERTY? Thanks.
Dear Microsoft Community: No matter what I type into CMD, as Administrator Example, scan /scannow CMD say, Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair services. How can I resolve this problem with Windows 10 so that I can type in any cmd into CMD as an Administrator and the CMD will work??. I am unable to find any Windows Resource Protection, to turn on as automatic, or manual, or do what ever it takes to resolve the problem. Many thanks in advance. Best regards, Dr. Hubert Hechabarria

I am unable to log into my account on startup for the last two days. It logs in to a temporary profile and displays a message "Couldn't log into your account. Please log out and log in again to fix this issue". But I tried this and it is not working. Please let me know how to fix this.
Folder file count (items) in the details pane is incorrect - requiring multiple refreshes to correctWindows RT 8.1
I have an odd problem on (only) two Windows 7 Pro PCs when opening large folders with documents on an IBMi. This issue is not showing up on the other 48 PCs in the office, and age/hardware/software config is basically the same on all the PCs in our office. When these two users open large folders of PDFs on our server, the number of "items" that displays in the details pane is way off the actual count and not all the documents are displaying. Sometimes it takes multiple refreshes to correct the count but this is not a workable solution for us. *Note* When user displays properties on the folders, the "contains:" count is correct. I've switched out network cables, tried different ports, moved their connection in the network switches - nothing has helped. Any ideas as to what is causing this issue on the two PCs?
KB3210721 will not install on my PC. I have tried 7 times now and it configures up to 100% then says it can't complete the updates and removes them again. All this takes around 15 minutes each time I switch my PC on. It's getting pretty tedious.
I'm working with Windows 10 for about a year now. I like it, but I have my pet peeves. One of them is that you can not jump back in the history in the 'File Explorer'. You can only go back to the previous (or next) page. If you need to go back further, you have to repeat until you reach your destination. That is difficult and/or tiresome when you are searching where a file is located. So could that be added? So the change request is: "Enhance functionality of 'File Explorer' so it is possible with a right mouse to open a list of previous or next locations you was with 'File Explorer' and select the location you want to jump back (and forward) to in the history of locations you visited".
BT keyboard works for a couple of days then just quits since latest KB3210721 update. Go to BT Device Settings to uninstall and keyboard listing does not remove. Have to reboot PC. Reboot takes forever so I then must use laptop power button. Go back to settings and status is still Removing. Press keyboard connect button and another instance shows up ready to pair. This update said it was Cumulative but then says Security Update when listed in Uninstall list. Is this update necessary?
Hi I want to download the installation media for windows 10 Pro onto a USB pen for my son to use on his laptop. He lives in Japan and I am in England. He is unable to do it himself and this is a last attempt to get the computer up and running before it gets binned. When it asks for language, do I tick UK English, as that's what he uses, but his Region on his computer is Japan. Also he has Windows 10 Pro but it isn't giving me an option. He does have his product key Thank
So a couple weeks ago my laptop's hard drive bit the dust. I sent it in to the warranty repair depot (Staples) and when it came back, they had installed windows 8.1. I was using windows 10 before the HDD died so, the guy at staples installed windows 10 upgrade assistant and told me what to do. (just click install, basically) So i did so and left it overnight (by the time I went to bed it was at 90%). The next morning I noticed it was still at 99% (this was around 8 hours later). I've read the suggestions to use the media creation tool but the guy at staples assured me I would not need to purchase a new license with the windows 10 upgrade assistant. My worry is that if I do try the media creation tool, I would need to purchase a new license. So my question is, Is my concern about needing to purchase a new license valid? Or can I proceed to try the media creation utility without purchasing a new one?
