Error in Groove Music "couldn't sync"Windows RT 8.1
Device: Lumia 950
Groove Pass subscriber
I added music to OneDrive as I purchased the music from the band's BandCamp page. I forgot I already had this same music added to my collection from Groove so it was in my library and streaming with my devices. So I then had duplicates of the music (I did not know about the Windows 10 feature to replace Groove music with OneDrive music and it was defaulted to off). I deleted all of the tracks from my collection using my 950 and then added the music back to OneDrive.
Now when I try to sync from Groove settings it says "couldn't sync". All of my other devices now show the correct information. I have an iPad Air 2 and a Lumia 920. Both of them have updated and synced the music correctly. Why is it not working on my Lumia 950?
What I have tried so far:
Added more music to OneDrive, no new music will sync from OneDrive
I added a song from the store, streamed it, downloaded it.
I removed the band's music from OneDrive and tried the sync again, still failed.
Restarted and Soft Reset
I used the OneDrive app to download the music to the phone. This works to get that band's songs on the phone locally, but it did not fix the "couldn't sync" error.
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
A question, which latest preview build are you using in your Lumia 950?
To know the latest version and build, refer the below article.
I would suggest you to install the latest build through Windows insider and check if it helps.
In addition, I would like to mention that the synchronization works only if you have stored the music in OneDrive logged in as the same Microsoft account which you had set up on your phone.
Keep posted on the status of the issue and we’ll be glad to assist you further.
