Hi everyone, I was trying to run an application( non windows app ) in my system such that the user cant access anything but the application I selected. I tried to change explorer.exe in shell with the application, also created a .bat file script and used that to replace explorer.exe . but both of them option gave me blank screen. Is there any another options? or am I missing anything? Any comment from you will be highly appreciated. Thank you all in advance :)

My HP laptop has 8.1 but will not update properly. When I check it says updates never installed. I have also tried numerous times to upgrade to Windows 10 and it gets stuck at getting updates and goes around for hours to no avail. The update troublehooter and reset and restore have not helped. Is there another avenue to try??
On 12th January my compter was updated with updates KB3213986,KB890830 and KB3214628. Since the update, I have lost Cortana, News / Finance News and Microsoft Store. Everything else seems to be working normally. The others do nothing at all but when I try Store i first get error code Ox8000FFFF, then on retry, I get error code Ox80072EFD. I have attempted all of the solutions which seem to have been raised within the community pages without success. Any suggestions please???

Split from this thread. I too have the same issues..not only is it slow but I can't get on to any web sites whats so ever..yahoo, hotmail, FB.... ZERO... I go in and uninstall this update and then my computer works fine.. but the next day I have the same issues and see the update was installed again after I uninstalled! I shouldn't have to uninstall the same update everyday in order for my computer to work.
I got a computer about a year ago. It was windows 7 and I upgraded it to 10. As I started it up I used my Microsoft email address and password. I thought I was doing it correctly but it didn't log me in under my Microsoft account. Which I didn't realize for a while. I set up a PIN so I can get into the computer no problem but I have since changed my Microsoft password many times and since it didn't register as a Microsoft account I have no clue what my password used to be. So how can I retrieve my password and get it to register under my Microsoft account?
I have Windows Professional 7. Recently when I log in with my password if I leave the computer for even a short time I have to enter my password again to resume use. ANNOYING I have installed a screen saver recently...could that be connected ??? I am the only user of this PC and I would be very happy to eliminate a log in password altogether. Can anyone help me ? I am obviously an amateur computer operator. Thanks....SSGT Jim Willig USMC
