hey i have a huge problem that i just am not able to fix...ive been trying it for several hours now...ill list procedure serially down below : I am using a windows 8.1 os and am facing problem connecting to my router and also had VMWARE installed for linux programming although no virtual machine was still running. i for some experimnetal and/or curiousity purposes created a NETWORK BRIDGE . i Bridged my wifi lan and the vmware network lan....which obviously was virtual... after that i still was connected to my router but i couldnt get any internet access. after that whenever i tried to DISABLE THE BRIDGE....my Computer ran into some problem and showed me a blue screen giving a "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" error... i tried for several times but it still always took me to the same blue screen. later i uninstalled VMWARE...and then i deleted the BRIDGE.... i still wasnt able to connect to the router...and no internet acess....then i went to network adapter settings ..n ACCIDENTLY ...UNISNTALLED the wifi drivers ...im using Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160..... later i downloaded all the latest drivers for it i.e. Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 8.1* and it still dint work... the router kept asking for the password and when entered it said "CANT CONNECT TO THIS NETWORK"......then i tried to reset all the internet settings i used CMD and typed in "NETSH WINSOCK RESET".....i restared the system several times and i still ouldnt connect to the router nor the internet...please inform me if you could find any solution.
After these three updates ((KB890830, KB3214628, KB3213986) to Windows 10 were done on 1/15/2017, my Dell XPS 13 will no longer boot. It has power, but will not show anything on the black screen...no cursor, no Dell logo, no spinning dots. I've read everything I can find and most suggest it is a video driver issue. However, none of the recommended fixes have worked...including downloading Windows 10 to and attempting to boot from a USB flash drive. Nothing happens with the exception of when I attempt to boot from the USB and press "D" when powering on...I'm taken through several screens of display colors and then back to black. Very frustrating to go to Dell and am being asked to pay for technical assistance on an issue caused by others. A simple update has now consumed hours of my time with no resolution in sight. Anyway, any suggestions on how to bring it back to life?
Hi, My son is 14 and we want to set very specific times so he cannot play games during week but can at weekend. I have watched a few youtube tutorials and read a few tutorials but I can't figure it out. They seem to focus on a less specific setting of blocking for specific times or hours the whole pc but not how to set it for specific apps or sites. We have Windows 10. Any ideas? I even thought I could set up 3 accounts on the PC. One for me as administrator and 2 for my son, 1 account for him to play games, one to do homework, and then allow specific things for each. Is that a work around to acheive this? Thanks.
Asus x205ta 11.6" 8.1 with Bing 32bit. Downloaded Windows 8.1 important updates and that was successful. Then downloaded optional and recommended updates and after they downloaded I no longer had sound, control of the keyboard or touchpad. However I can operate the laptop with a usb keyboard. Ear buds do not work. Ran Windows update trouble shooter and I checked in "Update Driver Software-HID Keyboard Device and it said it driver was up to date. Now what- refresh, reset or restore my pc? Thanks in advance. redshed73
Hi there, im trying to copy some folders full of photos off my pc and paste them onto a removable storge device. However when i try it, i get a popup which says "item file not found. Find file location and try again". Im unsure as to why this is coming up as im still able to view all the photos and move them around the computer as i wish. Its not the removable storage as im able to use it perfectly fine on my laptop, any help would be great.
I have the "configuring Windows features 100% complete Don't turn off your computer" message on blue screen. Nothing happening. Not even able to switch off by holding the on off button down for 10seconds. Just returns to the same blocked screen.
Hello, My windows 10 key has stopped working, again. On a reboot it works briefly, and then fails. AFAICT disabling all startup applications doesn't fix the problem. The last time it broke I followed the instructions available here and the only thing that worked was creating a new user, which I did about 3 weeks ago. Obviously I can't create a new user everytime the windows key stops working. I use it constantly throughout a work session (app switching, app launching, windows management...) so it's a critically disabling bug. This seems like a fairly known problem 950 THOUAND views. (none of these solution worked for me) So is this a tracked bug? Is there a fix imminent? What can I do in the mean time.
From past few weeks I am getting this state of my Laptop, which renders it unusable even for normal use. Randomly for few 10-15 minutes in between hours or sometimes every hour this happens when all my computer resources are used by by this Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry thing, which I know nothing about. Please help how do I solve this issue and why is this happening in first place!
I successfully installed the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based on 01/10/2017. Now I get " incorrect password" when I attempt to login to my local account. I installed Windows 10 on July 8, 2016 and had no trouble until now. Cap locks is off and I am sure of the password because I can remove the battery and login with it one time before I get the Incorrect password message. I cannot find a direct answer in previous post. How do I fix it?
