Driver Detective updated drivers recently. Control Panel tells me cam is working properly. Unable to open file locations or the actual cam. Have an HP Pavilion with Windows 8. Double clicking on the shortcut only opens the file location. Any fixed for this? Sorry if already asked.
Every time I try to sync music to my phone the message shows up "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while syncing the file to the device." I'm not sure why this message keeps showing up. There is plenty of space on my SD card. Can someone help???
This Sudoku program seems very unstable. It keeps crashing. It has been uninstalled and reinstalled. I turned off all the app tiles because thought that might help...I even had a chat helper take over my computer and it worked for a while but then started crashing again. He thought, as I do, it has something to do with the ads on the pages, because as they jump around, it crashes. Microsoft should address this because there a lot of angry people in the 'community' who are having this problem.
Originally, I had no sound in the headphones. I got the proper driver from HP and installed. Now the sound plays in both the speakers and headphones. Looking at Sound under Control Panel, it has: Speakers and Headphones IDT High Definition Audio CODEC - it says this even when I don't have headphones plugged inCommunications Headphones IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (Unplugged) -this option is grayed out. Mouneshwar R's reply in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/how-prevent-sound-from-playing-through-both/4d65f6fb-873c-4154-8dd1-638877c6e4a1 did not work at all. Reading around the web (including the above), I tried uninstalling and reinstalling driver. That didn't help. I do not have an additional "sound card driver software". I do not have a headset under Recording, only microphone. TIA
I have Windows 10 and am suddenly not able to run any .exe files. Double clicking on program icons no longer launches my existing programs. A double click starts the User Access Control window and after I click YES, nothing happens. The result is that I can no longer run programs that have previously worked. A handful of programs do work, but the majority no longer work. Double-clicking on a .jpg photo, for example, no longer launches my photo editor, even though it is set as the default program. I can no longer edit my photos. Similarly, I cannot start Malwarebytes to check for malware. My USB scanner no longer works either. My system updates are current and Windows Defender did not identify any problems. I have found two identical fixes to the Registry as a solution to this problem on Youtube, but it has not resolved this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Gabe
Hi, Two days ago my computer (lenovo, win 8) was showing blue screen with Video dxgkrnl fatal error. I somehow got into a recovery mode: the system will try to recover and diagnose the problem on its own every time I turn it on. But it still can't fix the problem and I can't get out of the recovery mode. Now I'm trying to reinstall the windows system and see if it works. It's asking for an installation disc but I don't have any and I don't know the product key. Should I create an installation media on the USB? Is there any other ways to fix this issue? School's starting soon... Thank you!
I installed Examsoft on my computer and since I cannot open a number of programs and I can't install updates. I contacted Examsoft support and they removed the program from my computer but the problem has persisted. I have read all the other questions asked and I have elements of all their problems in my computer. How can I resolve this?
Hello, I have a new computer which has several Third Party applications installed on it; however, it has never been used. I am now trying to use it, but I am receiving a host of error messages when attempting to open any Windows Office Pro application, Firefox, Skype and other Third Party applications. One of the messages that I am receiving is: Firefox: WerFault.exe - Application Error "The instruction at 0x000000007196AC20 referenced memory at 0x00000007196AC20. The required date was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0x0000242. Click on OK to terminate program" After clicking OK, I then receive the following error message: DFS.Common.Agent: Werfault.exe - Application Error "The instruction at 0x000000007196AC20 referenced memory at 0x00000007196AC20. The required date was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0x0000242." I receive the same message, when attempting to open Skype. In general, various Applications fail to open or crash shortly after opening and/or exhibit errors of different sorts, and many other applications will simply not install as new applications. Please note that I have already tried setting the "Windows Error Reporting Service" to the "Disabled" position to no avail. Please help!
