Windows 10 is much slower.

Windows RT 8.1

Asked by: Instifly

For some reason windows 10 is slower than when I had windows 8.1. I have a pretty good computer, so I don't notice a difference when using the computer normally, but when I start up games, games that used to run in  about 60 fps run at 5-10fps. I have checked all my drivers and they all are up do date. I'm not really sure about my bios, mostly because I don't really know who made it (my computer is the Fangbook Evo HX7-400). One thing that I have done that worked only for a couple of seconds was this fix here How To Fix Slow Windows 10. I'm not really sure why it only worked for a a couple of seconds. I don't really want to do a fresh install. What should I do?

Hi Instifly,

We appreciate you for being a part of Windows 10.

Is the issue specific only when you run the game/any other applications/programs in Windows 10?

Kindly follow the steps and check if it helps.

Step 1:

Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Try this setting if you know the program is designed for (or worked in) a specific previous version of Windows. To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the program icon, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.

You may try to run the game in compatibility mode and check the functionality. To change compatibility settings manually for a game/program, right-click the program setup file (publisher pro 22), click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab. Click on Run this program in compatibility mode for and select the Windows 7/8/xp/vista (As you prefer).

Step 2:

I suggest you to run the System maintenance troubleshooter and check if it fixes the issue. Follow the steps given below:

  2. Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.

  3. Click on View all on the left navigation pane.

  6. Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the System maintenance troubleshooter.
