hello, this is my first question :) so i plugged in my usb and tried to open songs, videos, images etc. THEN it popped up this error that says' (file destination) cant be opened System error -2018374635 i was thought that it was because my usb is broken, i tried for almost 10 times, it says the same thing over and over again even the files from this pc, it did not say "._.Example " i tried to open recently opened files yesterday and it says the same thing. PLEASE HELP
Hi, At my company we have a bunch of Lenovo-desktops. Around ten ThinkCentre M72e and around five S500. They are running Windows 10 pro, connected to an Azure Active Directory, have a bunch of different peripherals connected (like any office). Worked nice for a couple of years, probably has been upgraded from Windows 8 Pro (not totally sure, didn't do it myself). During the Christmas holidays one of the M72e's got stuck during boot at a black screen with spinning white dots. After that more has followed. First we thought only the M72e's were effected but today the same problem occurred on a S500. We have keep a couple of them running for a few hours but no change. This problem has been described many times as a Google search can tell you. And I understand that the symptoms of a black screen and spinning white dots doesn't tell you much but I can describe what I've tried to do. Googling the issue has made me try the following stuff I've gone through all the "boot-options" from the "Automatic repair"-screen. The only change in behavior is when during any of the Safe boots, the screen goes just black, no spinning dots. Don't get any further though. Remove all attached peripherals. Only VGA-screen, power-cord and standard USB-keyboard is connected.Tried a system restore. tried it twice, once it didn't succeed, the other one went through. Neither made a change in behavior.Found someone who suggested a chkdsk from the "Automatic repair"-screen. Did that, took a while. It said it fixed some sectors but after a reboot, no change.Start recovery ended in "Can't load Windows correctly" and suggest a System restore.I did a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro from a USB-stick that has been setup from a downloaded EXE from the Microsoft homepage. Three computers got into this problematic state just hours after installation while others have survived for at least 24 hours. I can't get into the computer so any changes that require the Windows GUI must be done after a re-installation or through a command-prompt. As long as it only affected the M72e's, my theory was that it was a driver that came with Windows Update that got some piece of hardware messed up within the machine and it just took different long time to get the problematic update, hence the different time "of survival". On the other hand, when the new ones started to get affected I started to doubt that theory. Is there anyone else who has had similar troubles? Any more tips on what I can look for or try? Yesterday I assisted a resident at work setting up a new Windows 10 laptop. He set a password and added a phone number to his account. Unfortunately he added an old phone number to a phone he no longer has and each time he tries to log in to his laptop it does not recognise his password. To make matters worse the gentleman in question had a stroke a few years ago which has affected his speech so phone support for him is difficult. I tried to reset the password for him by adding a new email address (which now has his correct phone number) he received an sms with a verification code but we still haven't received a reply about resetting the password, everything else I try just sends me in a frustrating loop. As hes only just had the laptop there is nothing on there for him to loose is there anyway to reset it back to factory settings without getting into Windows or without having a Windows disk?
So I'm using a lenovo y-50 touch laptop with my turtle beach PX24 headset. I have my laptop running HDMI to a monitor. I have my headset plugged into my laptop. My headset plugs into my headphones port and normally works (both headset and mic) without HDMI plugged in. Once I plugged my HDMI cord in I reset my default sound to my laptop, as I am running it as an extended screen. My issue is that my mic no longer works and I cant figure out how to use it while using my monitor. Things to point out: 1. I don't have VGA port on laptop. 2. even plugging it into the microphone port, it still doesn't work. 3. my playback options don't recognize my headset as an external headset or microphone. 4. I have already checked disabled and hidden boxes in playback settings. 5. I'm on windows 8.1 Please help me I am an avid gamer and would like to use my monitor and still be able to use my mic on my headset. Thank you
Using Windows 10 build 1607. Same problem on two separate PCs. Try to rename a folder - often a new folder. May be on the desktop, or within a programme like Photoshop Elements or Word. I can type in the new name - then the programme, or the desktop, freezes for a minute or so. It is just SO annoying! Is this a bug on the latest Windows update? Do I have virus? All help gratefully received.
I have lost all of the Store apps and can't get them back. All of the suggested technical fixes and work-arounds (wsrest, powershell, Get apps, etc, etc) result in the same error report - error 0x87AF0001. Example below: Add-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF6, Package could not be registered. error 0x87AF0001: The Visual Elements extension failed while processing the Notification element Help if you can as I need the store facility. I also created a new user profile but that does not include all of the program settings and associated data that I already have and is useless to me with or without syncing. Chris
I had 10 pc network, some of them comes with preloaded windows 7 and some windows 10. To access the network pc I have to open windows explorer & click the pc. But I can't see the list of network pc. If I run from run command for example. \xyz-pc, I am able to access that pc. but my other users don't like it. so please help me out for this problem.
Ok so ive read alot of the threads on this topic even done the advanced user registry edit to fix this issue and nope still didnt work. After i did that i said screw it ill just reset my pc(i have nothing to lose on it besides games). So after starting completely new with a fresh windows 10 install the problem is still there. Ive talked to 3 microsoft support reps turtle beach support and ive posted on a few forums. Nothing has worked for me and i dont understand why. I put a new gigabyte ga-z97x-sli motherboard in and i had a gigabyte h81m motherboard. The headset worked fine for about a week or so with the new motherboard in and then it all the sudden did that i didnt install or switch anything. I use to use my pc for school but i graduated and now use it to game. If anyone can help please do.
Hi everyone. I built a new PC and wanted to check if I like Win10 before buying it. I got Win10 Enterprise Evaluation from MS website, it's ok so I bought Win10 Pro OEM from external online shop. I used the serial to create bootable flashdrive (through MS website). PC boots up from the flashdrive and asks for serial key - my key doesn't work (error states that installation files I have do not match the serial key). Tried typing serial 3 times. I've contacted support and through remote control they tried to change serial on my Evaluation copy to the one I bought. Didn't work. He checked if the serial is legit, it was an old code but it checked out. Next steps were: 1. extending my evaluation copy to 90 days 2. Activating (?) my evaluation copy in to full working Windows (I wasn't looking when it was done, but reminder in the right bottom saying that I have evaluation copy disappeared). Unfortunately when we went to Activation tab in control panel it was displaying error, saying that I need to purchase genuine version of Win10. It also displayed that I have no serial key. At this point support associate disconnected from me, probably hoping I will be happy to just have working Windows (it was updating, no evaluation copy reminder, seemed fine except for the error). I'm afraid it wasn't enough so I contacted them back again. New guy run another script and showed me, that everything is activated and error message is gone. He maximized the windows of control panel, circled the 'Windows Activated' message in red and rushed me to say that it's ok. After he disconnected I closed all windows and saw, that I'm back on evaluation copy (90 days left). Support guys seemed to know something but clearly not the source of my problem. I had to explain them what evaluation copy is, guess not many people use them. Questions: 1. If I format C: and run the bootable flashdrive will it work? Is it possible that serial key doesn't work because Windows is installed? 2. Is OEM installable from flashdrive? 3. Is there a way to downgrade Enterprise in to Pro and change serial key to the one I bought? 4. Is there a way for MS support to do what the guys were trying to do? Change my Win10 Enterprise Evaluation in to fully activated Win10 Enterprise with serial key I bought? Seems to me that Windows will connect to server and compare my serial key with what version I'm supposed to have and will cough it back?
I am running Windows 10 On Christmas Eve I turned on my computer and put in the password only to be informed, incorrect password, I know the password is correct and so I continued to try and open my computer without success. It did say I could go to My Account for a fix however, being unable to open my computer meant I had no access to the account. I ended up having to have Windows 10 removed from my computer and reinstall before it would work again. Anyone else had this problem?
I am using Windows 10 and Microsoft Home 365 which are completely up to date. Recently when I scaned my computer using Windows Defender at the end of scan it gives me an error msg 0x8050800c - With the comment "An unexpected problem occurred. Install any available updates" but the scan appears to have completed successfully? Meanwhile I go into the box which allows you to check on availability of up dates and then it scans again with no error msg at the end. The same thing happen yesterday. Any thoughts on the matter?
