a virtual space is pressed when the keyboard lid is connected after the latest win 10 upgrade

Windows RT

The problem is, when the keyboard lid is connected, a virual space will be pressed and disturbs my use(search, change the input language, and input characteristics ). For example, when I want to use "Windows" key to call the start menu, the keyboard switch will be activated since the hot key for this is “Win+Space” and the computer simply changes my input language. Or, if I go to the start menu, the Cortana will be activated before I do anything else since the virtual space keeps typing and leaving a lot of white space in Cortana. The product I use is Surface Pro 3, and the keyboard lid I use is the one for pro 4. The problem strats to occours after last win 10 upgrade (10,Jan).

How to set Firefox (Gmail) as Windows' default service for email links

Windows RT

OS: Windows 10 Is there any way to set Firefox as Windows’ default program for MailTo (email address) links? If not, can Microsoft please correct that defect? On my computer, the default MailTo program is now Chrome, and Gmail is Chrome’s default “handler” for email links . So, if you’re in Microsoft Word 2010 and you see the email address *** Email address is removed for privacy *** in your document, just Ctrl+Click on the email link; Chrome will immediately pop up and open a new Gmail tab with a new draft addressed to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. That's great, but, for various reasons, I don’t use Chrome to compose emails; I only use Firefox (which is set to “Use Gmail” for "MailTo" content types). Yet when you try to change Windows’ default MailTo program in the control panel, Firefox is not listed as an alternative, even though FF functions just like Chrome with mailto protocols. The default mailto options available other than Chrome are Mail, Outlook, and “Look for an app in the [Microsoft online apps] Store.” And FYI the Store is useless here.) Is there anything, perhaps a regedit fix, or some other way to get Windows to recognize that Firefox can do what Chrome does with email links? Thanks

update KB3213986 causes system playback and sound functions to cease

Windows RT

Hi, I have been having issues with the latest update to windows10, titled: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3213986). I have allowed it to intall 3 times now, and after each completed update, my system playback and sound functions fail to be operable, whiles the speaker sound icon suggests nothing is wrong with the system. I have troubleshot my sound devices, disabled and reenabled my speakers and sounds, updated device drivers to no avail. software wise, all diagnostics I have run tells me the system is up and functional, but media won't usually playback, and when some even do, there is no sound output, either through the computer's own speakers or through the headphone. All functions however get restored when i roll-back the update via system restore. is it a problem with the update or with my PC? and how can i fix it? I use an HP 620, win 10 pro 64 bit (build 14393) Cheers

Windows 10 taking 5+ minutes to boot and an extra 3 minutes before I can open an application.

Windows RT

Hello, I have purchased a new a new HP laptop. The configuration is i7 6th gen processor, 8GB RAM, 4GB AMD graphics card and a 2TB hard disk. The computer is extremely slow. It take 5+ minutes to boot and another 3 minutes before I can start using any application. Every application takes a lot of time to load for the first time. If it is even 30 seconds I don't really mind. But opening a picture takes 2 minutes and opening Visual Studio takes 5 minutes. I thought maybe I need another 8GB RAM to work faster. But other systems with the configuration or even lesser configuration boots in maximum 30 seconds and opens applications in seconds. I always keep my windows and drivers updated. This is issue is wasting a lot of my time daily. Since I am working and have to present my work to others, I can't make them wait until the application opens. It is really taking a toll on my career. Please guide me in this issue. Thank you.

Edge keeps refusing to open a website

Windows RT

Hello, one of our customers' websites cannot be opened with Edge. Edge keeps saying: 'Beim Laden dieser Seite ist ein Problem aufgetreten'. The website is: http://www.stamminger.de All other browsers (FireFox, IE11, Opera, Safari) don't seem to have a problem. I am not looking for a solution that requires me to change some settings in Edge. I would like to know what has to be changed about the website to make it compatible with Edge. Any suggestion would be welcome. Thank you.

No longer able to sign on to my laptop with MS PIN??

Windows RT

When are you reactivating the PIN sign-on option? After realizing I did not unwittingly changed from the PIN sign-on to a password sign-on, I decided it was a good time to change my password. Changed my password yesterday, restarted my laptop, used the new password several times yesterday, all was well (still annoying not having PIN sign-on option!). This morning I tried to sign on with the new password and it did not work. Went back and looked up my old password and decided to give it a try. The old password worked! VERY DISAPPOINTING MICROSOFT!!

Can't Sign In to Xbox - 0x404 & 0x406

Windows RT

Hello again... this is a follow-up to the previous thread that I have mentioned. Now that I have my computer back in shape, I'm still trying to reinstall all the apps that have been uninstalled in the process. While doing so, I noticed that whenever I sign in to Xbox, I couldn't sign in. It showed the error codes 0x406 and 0x404 (sometimes). I tried to remove the Windows Store and Xbox app packages, but when I restarted the computer and decided to put back in all the apps that I have deleted, only Windows Store reinstalled, not Xbox. And when I tried to reinstall Xbox from the Store, the problem still prevailed. Is there a way to solve this problem even if the Powershell solution did not work? Please do so... I want to go back to playing those Classic Games again.

Rotate images

Windows RT

Hi! First of all, english is not my native language, so sorry for any grammar error. I have been having some problems with my jpgs lately, and can't find any thread that helps me. In my line of work i need to use a reproduction table to photograph various objects to insert in databases and text documents. This means that the camera is facing down, to the object, and away from me, so the pictures do come out inverted (180º). What i need to do then is rotate the images by clicking the "rotate left" or "rotate right" options in the right button menu, and the preview images are then rotated. This has been working just fine but with the upgrade to windows 10, anytime i try to insert the rotated image into a text document or a database (Filemaker Pro) the image returns to the original position. I have found a fix, opening the image with a photo editor (MsPaint works just fine, as it opens the image in the right position, rotated) and just save it. Then i can finally use it. But, and here's the catch, i need to do this for hundreds of pictures... Is there any way i can work this out? Thanks in advance Pedro
