Taskbar changed from virus

Windows RT

So I think a virus of some sort just installed itself (I'm doing an AVG scan currently) but I was randomly taken to a page a couple minutes ago with the address of (r8980.ru) and I had a bit of a fiasco trying to close out of it, as dialogue boxed kept coming up telling me to add the extension. When I finally got out, by taskbar-- formerly translucent with a good number of icons-- was now solid black with no icons past the default. I also cannot engage the taskview (where you see all open windows and desktops) and am not really sure where to locate this thing or how to revert back to normal. Any tips? Windows 10.

Locked out of Skype and can't use Skype support

Windows RT

When signing into Skype, I was prompted to enter DOB. I mistakenly clicked on 2017 and then it locked me out with the following error message: Based on your age, we need your parent's permission before you can use this account. Using a web browser, sign in to account.microsoft.com to get your parent's permission and come back to try again. But when I try to access Help for Skype, it says I need to log in, which obviously I can't do. I can't even post this problem on the Skype help board without logging in. Can anyone please help me unlock my account, which I have been using as a grown man since at least 2003?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Frustrated!

UAC popup prompt switches between blue and yellow sporadically

Windows RT

UAC warning switches back and forth between blue to yellow, for the same items Hello Forum, I have a few shortcuts that I put on my start menu to have quick access to commonly used items as: - open admin. command prompt in one click - access to ‘view hidden files’ in Folder Handling in one click - empty all event logs in event viewer (downoalded script) in one click - empty clipboard ( “ ) In shortcut properties “Run as Administrator” is ticked Here is the problem: The UAC warning/prompt always used to pop up in blue, but lately it is yellow for a while, then changes back to blue…??? and so on … from one day to the next It is sporadically and I didn’t change anything I read up on it and it supposed to be related to “known” and “unknown” applications – "digitally signed" or not – "trusted" or not Why is it changing on its own and can an application be set to be trusted once and for all? (little home made system apps in my case - not talking about acknowledged programs, whichhave no prompt at all) I noticed that all the above are sitting in C...System32 Info: Win7, 64 bit, I’m the administrator and only user Thanks

Windows 10 printer queue dissappears

Windows RT

We have latest Windows 10 on Dell Inspiron 15 with Brother DCP L2540 printer. We print files when printer is not connected and they store in "Queue". If we attach printer via usb cord right away, the files print out. If we turn PC off and try to print next day, sometimes files disappear, i.e. queue is empty. 1. How can we retain queue when PC is turned off?? 2. What is the file name for the filled queue?? (search cannot find it!). Thankyou for any help. Cheers Edward Blake
