BSOD after Disk Cleanup in Windows 10 Home 1607

Windows Vista

I have entered into an infinite loop of BSOD after restarting after a disk cleanup. 1. BSOD says CRITICAL_SERVICE_FAILED 2. It happened twice and then I was offered advanced options (automatic startup repair fails). 3. I tried Safe Mode with Networking, it failed with this message: -- C:WindowsSystem32driversnvstor.sys missing or corrupt -- error 0xc000000f 4. Then I went through this article -BSOD finding and fixing them ( https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_10-update/bsod-finding-and-fixing-them/1939df35-283f-4830-a4dd-e95ee5d8669d ) which says to upload Minidump, MSinfo32 and System information(I used Speccy) 5. I tried a system restore from an earlier restore point, which failed but allowed me to boot into windows. 6. Here is the link to my minidump, msinfo32 and system information: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuVw2QZMum7ilRQiCpfYLcWsXhvG PLEASE HELP, now is it safe to restart?

Does Windows Update dereference a null pointer? (Windows 7)

Windows Vista

In BSD Unix, if you pass a null pointer to printf's %s formatter, it outputs the string "(null)" instead of aborting. I don't know why. Does Windows do the same thing? Does Windows Update get Windows to display "(null)" when Windows Update should have crashed? This is on a computer where I plan to proceed as directed in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3200747 I disabled Windows Update but have not rebooted yet. I will not retry before applying the two patches. Meanwhile, it looks like Windows Update really wanted to crash at this point.

Laptop touch pad scrolling is always disabled upon start up

Windows Vista

I have an Acer Aspire One laptop having Windows 7 Home Premium and it has an ELAN touch pad. I recently did a clean boot on my laptop to fix some update issues. So I disabled some services and after a restart, my touch pad doesn't respond to scrolling on the sides anymore. Not even the two finger scrolling. I tried fixing it in the mouse settings and it worked. But after a restart, scrolling still doesn't work. I think I might have disabled a touch pad service that would not activate on start up. Still, I don't know how to fix this and it's annoying to keep on fixing it in the mouse settings every after restart. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance!

Trying to reset my windows logon password

Windows Vista

Hi. I have spent all day trying to log onto my computer with no success. I first tried to logon with my password that I have used for 4 years - it was not accepted. The computer then prompted me to go to account.live.com/password/reset I have tried this again and again and it will not accept my new passwords. I have restarted the computer - I have tried turning it on and off...... I have even swapped keyboards. Can someone please help me. Thanks, Ruby
