I've gone through all the posts about not being able to turn Cortana On/Off and I've found nothing that works. I'm on the latest build of Windows 10 Pro. I get nothing from the Search Windows dialog and don't even see the Folder Icon to be able to access the Notebook as described in some of the posts. Any suggestions?
Prior to the most recent update of Windows 10, I had dual screens working. Following the most recent update of Windows 10, it is "unable to detect" a second screen, even though it is connected and the screen is working (though only showing one screen's information, on both). How do I reset the computer to recognize dual-screen function?
Split from this thread. I have the same problem all attempts to correct this have failed. The only thing i have been able to do was go to a system restore point prior to the update installation. Unfortunately the one restore point that i had where the update was not present has been overwritten and now i have no internet and no way to correct it. David
Hi all, I encounter a issue that enabling kernel-debug on serial cause windows 10 to hang. The windows 10(64-bit) runs on XenServer, which can boot normally before enabling kernel-debug, and the windows 10 will stay at the boot screen once rebooting after enabling kernel-debug on serial. I try to add serial port and remove serial port on XenServer but they can't solve it. Does anybody encounter this issue ? Thanks.
I updated and restarted my PC this morning. Later in the afternoon, I tried opening Local Disk (D) but I got a dialogue box with the message " you need to format the disk in drive D: before you can use it." I do not want to lose all my data. Kindly assist me on how to resolve the issue.
Just updated Windows 10 and now it thinks the down arrow button is pressed, it is stuck, anyone know how to fix?Windows Vista
It seems like the down key is stuck on Windows 10. I am using an MSI laptop i7. I am sure it is not stuck because it was working fine before I updated it this morning. I have of course re-started the laptop but it still scrolls down on any web page, File Explorer and anything else. Please advise.
I have been in contact with a microsoft adviser, who advised me to post so than an engineer will address my query. I have downloaded vista service pack one for 32 bit. It downloads okay and the properties look fine. However, it will not install. I do not get an error message and it appears to be installing. After about 50 minutes, the computer restarts but the program is not installed: it is still there as a download though. The adviser said that the service pack may not be compatible with Vista home premium 32 bit and also said that there might be a problem with the pack. Can you help please? I can not get the Norton virus protection that purchased to work as it requires the service pack one to be installed first. I have followed all of the instructions for downloading and installing, I do have administrative rights and the program is not being disabled or blocked.
I've been trying to use netplwiz to set up my computer to log in without having to enter a password. However, when it gets to the login screen there's always a second user listed which can't be logged into automatically. The second user has the same email listed, I think the only difference is it's not listed as administrative. I've tried removing the second user, but it always comes back. Is there a way to stop the second user from being created, or to get Windows to try to login automatically using the original user that has administrative rights? Windows 10 home
I recently updated my computer, and everything was fine. On a regular basis I usually mute my computer for school / or when I'm doing something on it, as well as in public. The only problem was, that when I muted it the button did nothing. Neither did the one that was supposed to just make it quieter. When I tried to use the button to make it louder, it ended up turning on what 'ctrl f' would do. Could someone please help me, or tell me how to solve this problem, as it is a large annoyance and burden to what I'm used to. Thanks! Lily
We have a mix of W-7 and W-10 computers all on the same wireless network and prior to adding the second W-10 computer all shared files could be accessed from any computer by any computer W-7 or W-10. After adding the second W-10 computer we find that it can’t be accessed by other computers on the net and displays a window requesting User Name and Password. What user name, what password?
I want to be able to share a drive on my WIndows 10 desktop computer with a Samsung Galaxy S8 tablet and, possibly later, with an iPad. My PC has the drive shared but, using ESexplorer, the only thing I can find is the BT Home Hub. Any advice?
