Hello, I purchased a computer with Windows 10 about a week ago. I didn't use my Microsoft account for the login but made one especially for the computer. In the last few days I've begun to have two different problems logging into the system. The first will show the normal login prompts. I will enter my password, the system will think for a minute and them kick me back to the initial screen with the time and date. It won't tell me anything about why this occurred such as I typed in the wrong password. The other problem that sometimes occurs is that the initial screen with the date and time will come up and when I press a key to get the login prompt, there will be no image of me, no name and no box in which to type the password. When I try and type my password without the box nothing happens. The only buttons on the screen are the power button, network connection indicator and the ease of access button, all of which work as normal. Restarting the machine seems to take care of both of these problems in the short term but they usually come back the next time I start the machine. Funnily enough sometimes neither of problems come up at all. Since the only version of Windows 10 I've used is 1607, I don't know if this is some kind of glitch that is happening because of the update. Any help would be appreciated.
A new and mysterious bug has developed on my Windows 10, where when I boot or resume from hibernate... and even sometimes in the middle of my doing something on the PC, my mouse stops clicking on anything. It moves around fine, but when I click something it's as though there's an invisible window between the cursor and the UI element, because if something is focused and I try to click it, it loses focus. Now, I'm actually a sysadmin, but this got me stumped. What I discovered is a workaround that if I press Ctrl-Alt-Del, then click on the cancel button or anywhere really, then the first click sort of brings that element into focus, then from the second click onwards, everything works fine... until the next time. Has anyone else had this, or is anyone experiencing it now? I did an SFC scan, etc, but no joy. Windows reports all is fine and it's just an overactive imagination on my part. :p Any solutions/ideas? (I - proudly - have never reinstalled my Win10 and originally upgraded it from 8.1 during the preview. I prefer to fix, than "flip". ;))
Since a Windows update in November, my Windows accessories such as Calculator, Calendar and Sticky Notes are grayed out with an exclamation mark on the icon. When I click on one it says: This is what my start menu list looks like. I REALLY don't want to do a clean install. I've backed up all my personal files just in case, but I'm hoping for a quick tweek...
