Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool says 'Genuine' but I keep getting 'Not Genuine' wanrings

Windows XP

I have been using a 'Genuine' version of Windows 7 for several years without issue, however a week or two back I had a problem with windows that required me to 'repair' on startup. Since then I have been getting the hourly popup telling me that I need to Active Windows, etc. Additionally, updates are now failing to install. As far as I can tell Windows is Activated, I have even rearmed, "slmgr -rearm" from the administrator command prompt. The windows genuine advantage diagnostic tool (1.9.0019.0) says that both windows and office are genuine. How do I stop this nagging hourly popup? Start Menu changes?

Windows XP

I used to be able to hit the Windows key on my keyboard which would bring up the Start Menu and I could start typing to get the program that I wanted. That has stopped working recently. Something to do with Search or Start Menu, I guess? How can I get it back? *Windows 10 Pro.

Windows 8.1 update

Windows XP

I did a recovery and now I can't download any updates. I get an error Code 8020440. Any help would be great. Thanks I posted this with the wrong email address. I did a system restore. Don't know how to disable firewall. Tried troubleshooting steps that were recommended at control panel. Thanks for the replay.

Computer ONLY goes to sleep after 15 min and ONLY if there is no sound. Is that possible?

Windows XP

Hey guys, Currently, we have a PC in the board room which is set to go to sleep every 15min. However, many times it keeps going to sleep during the meeting as sometimes it there can be long discussions without touching the PC. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I was thinking make if it detects sound within the room it wouldn't go to sleep. Or is there another way to achieve this? Would be great to hear your ideas guys! Thanks in advance

Passwords for MS programs

Windows XP

In the past when I have downloaded various MS programs I have always established a different password for each one. Lately I've noticed when I open MS programs it suggests that I sign in using my MS account password. I have different passwords for my desktop PC, Skype, Live mail and MS account. Would it be easier for me to use my MS Account password or all these programs and cancel the existing ones? (Certainly easier to remember!)
