I have an HP Pavillion x360 and was attempting to Reset it to it's original state and it was interrupted prior to windows downloading. Now it will attempt to start and it gives me an error that says, The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error, Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. I click ok and the whole process starts again, ending with the same message. Tried to use usb to reinstall windows, but when I restart the computer it doesn't seem to recognize the usb drive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

In Windows 7, recent problem. Using Chrome, I search for an image and get, as usual, a page of choices. Right click on one of them, hit copy image then go to another program (in this case Word, but others, too), right click and hit Paste. Instead of the image I clicked, what is pasted is the image above or beside the one I clicked on. I've looked at the mouse settings on the control panel and see no issues. Have certainly made no changes. I've tried cleaning the mouse, using a different USB port and even switching to another mouse, but it is the same thing. I've got a mouse pad. Any ideas? Thanks
Hello, I have a very frustrating problem occurring on my computer right now. Yesterday I decided I needed space on my C: drive which is a 120gb ssd, and it housed the desktop at that time. So, I changed the location of the desktop from the C: drive to my F: drive which is my hard drive. After I did this I experienced many problems and many of my games lost their correct directories. I wanted to move the desktop back to my C: drive to fix these directory problems, but there wasn't enough space since the whole F drive was dumped on the desktop. Perhaps there is some way to transfer the desktop to my C drive without moving all the stuff that is on the F drive, just the things that were on my desktop to begin with. Any help is appreaciated!
I own a laptop which originally came with windows vista. When windows 7 became available, I bought the vista upgrade version and windows 7 professional upgrade. I installed it and was doing fine until last month when problems developed that I could not remedy. Today I reformatted my disk using Windows 7 and installed windows 7 again. Installation went smoothly until I attempted to put my product key in at which time it was rejected. When I got online and tried to register it again I was told that I could not do a clean install with my upgrade version of Windows 7. Installation is complete. I just cant register it. What do I do now? I no longer own vista so I cant reinstall it just to upgrade it with this version of 7 that I own. This is completely crazy. I bought and paid for Windows 7 upgrade and Windows 7 professional upgrade. Why can I not use them ? Vista is long gone. I cannot put windows 10 on this older laptop. HELP !!!
Whenever I open my usb, there are only two things that shows up "Drive" and "System Information" but when I used another computer from a computer cafe, it was able to read "Drive" and showed my usb's contents. But using my computer, it doesnt show up. A black screen appears with codes but doesn't open. What seems to be the problem? I don't want to lose the data in it because it holds my voucher requirements
So my first question is, how does the techs responsible for putting out the updates manage to get out of bed everyday. Cause if they can't put out a simple update without having computers crash, then how in the world do they function in the real world. So for the at least 4th time the wonderful latest batch of updates, that was rammed down my throat has crashed my computer. Getting the wonderful BSOD. It says its a security kernal failure AGAIN!! So how long until they release a patch to fix this one. Cause I'm about to start sending them a bill for my lost revenue. Due to my computer keeps crashing.
I have been experiencing this shutdown daily since November 2016. Its frequency varies but lately it has been at least once per day. I do not ever turn the machine off. I leave it running all day every day. This has been my approach on all my many machines and it has led to longer life, so far. Going through the event viewer and trying to find something that would have caused the crash has not been successful. I have filtered events at about two hours before the crash and looked for anything that might cause it and can find nothing. I ran the Dell stress test and there were no anomalies or issues. On a lark, this morning at about 4:00 AM I logged in to the administrators account and just left the machine running. When I came in later in the day at about 4:00 PM the machine was still how I left it. This leads me to believe it's not a hardware issue since it runs okay with one user but not with my main account. Should I establish a new account on the machine and make it my main account? That is going to be a pain but this is taxing my patience. I need this machine for business but I can't rely on it. Please help.
Windows 7 with Office 2010 starter software since 2011 - no problems. Upgraded to AT&T Uverse with Dlink DWA140 installed in USB port by phone company person. Since then, when clicking on either Word or Excel, it ends with "Microsoft Word (Excel) cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in Control Panel" Trying to repair the product has not been successful.
