I have tried every suggestion on web, and here, to get update to work, still no luck. So finally went to https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx and downloaded all 197 updates into a folder for 8.1. Note each update downloaded is itself a folder. Question, how do I automate the install so I do not have to do one at a time ? Regards, Dana.
My ASUS laptop suddenly crashed whilst using it. It took about 45 mins to get to the login page but there was no password prompt. After resetting it 3 times to use it in safe mode, the password prompt appeared. I typed in my password which I know is correct but am still unable to login. I tried old passwords and different variations but still does not work. Can someone please help me?
Hello In October 2017, I realised(finally) that there were no updates installed on my Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 Home (64bit) since 5 June 2016. In November I was able to install KB3145739 and KB3148198. Looking at the list of Updates (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/22801/windows-7-sp1-and-windows-server-2008-r2-sp1-update-history), I started from July 2016 but was unable to install it. I tried to install other individual updates but without success. The 'Fix problems with Update' troubleshooter doesn't seem to be working either. Any advice will be much appreciated.
I have a photo in Paint that I want to set as my desktop wallpaper ( Windows 10, & also need to know how to check for driver updates ). I'm pretty inept w/a pc, but love the fact that there is such a thing now called the Internet. Anyway, I did manage to resize the photo, and it appears that it is very close to desktop size. I want to know how to get the photos changed on my desktop, please.
I wanted to connect my xbox 360 controller to my pc but the controller's guide button keeps blinking .I m using the charge and play kit.i tried everything but it won't work.it is even listed in the connected device section and is connected but the controller is keep blinking.
One day my laptop (Dell Vostro 3500) crashed and has refused to come back - it tries to go into Automatic Repair but instead gives me to a blue screen that says "the operating system couldn't be loaded because the system registry file is missing or contains errors. error code: 0xc00000e9 press enter to try again/F8 for startup settings' but instead does nothing and just returns to this screen. I haven't done any updates since the computer was up to date, I already burned a disc to reinstall Windows and made it so BIOS reads from the disc but nothing happens as it's in but doesn't give me anything. I can't even boot it to go into safe mode or that checklist that should be happening. What exactly have I missed that I can fix?
Microsoft office purchase is a nightmare for me. One of the worst purchases of my life time. When i log into my laptop files after a break of few days it will ask me to verify my account. when i feed the log in info, it denies recognition. Consequently i had to change my account address. After successfully changes, i worked for few days and again it is asking for verification and denying recognition. I request micro-soft team to fix this problem as i am getting frustrated, thanks.

I have used powercfg h on/off command from CMD Admin too, still no Hibernate option. there is hiberfil.sys with 385MB in my C drive and I have ASus T200 windows 10 Home 32bit also I have updated all of drivers in my device manager so why can't I use Hibernate? Thanks
The automatic update started at 8.30 am, by 1.30 pm it had reached 91% complete and stayed there till I shut it down by cutting off all power at 7.45 pm. What is wrong with this update? How do I prevent this situation from happening when Windows does the next install? There were no other devices connected at the time - no CD or DVD, no memory stick, just a monitor and a mouse.
I just got this HP 20-038 and it only has 4GB RAM. And i am playing GTA V and the frame rate drops up and down alot and has terrible graphics. I was wondering if I bought new 8GB ram would it help improve the speed and give me more video-memory to increase the graphics. Also would removing the 4GB memory delete GTA V or any other files.Thank U
