MICROSOFT DONT GUIDE ME TO ANSWERS JUST PUT IT IN UPDATE SAVE ME TIME AND ERRORS. SECONDLY FIRMWARE THE FIRST AND ONLY SOFTWARE UPDATE PUT IN. FIRMWARE HAS FAILED!!!!!!! MEANING TAKE IT OUT OF THEIR IT DOESNT WORK HOW MANY MORE UPDATES ARE INCORRECT TO THE SYSTEM
Hey Microsoft has action center on for updates turn them off. then download firmware ONLY BUT IAM FINDING IT KEEPS SAYING PENDING RESTART WHAT A JOKE. THATS NOT WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN THIS IS FIRMWARE IT MUST BE BY ITSELF OR IT WILL NEVER WORK. THEN PICK AND CHOOSE YOUR OTHER UPDATES BE CAREFULL NOT TOO PUT TOO MANY IN. AS I HAVE FOUND PUT ALL IN THEN WINDOWS UPDATES STOP WORKING. WHAT AN UPDATE; I SAY THE ENGINEERS MESSED UP MAKING UPDATES ON THIS ONE
I have an HP Pavillion x360 and was attempting to Reset it to it's original state and it was interrupted prior to windows downloading. Now it will attempt to start and it gives me an error that says, The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error, Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. I click ok and the whole process starts again, ending with the same message. Tried to use usb to reinstall windows, but when I restart the computer it doesn't seem to recognize the usb drive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I have been experiencing this shutdown daily since November 2016. Its frequency varies but lately it has been at least once per day. I do not ever turn the machine off. I leave it running all day every day. This has been my approach on all my many machines and it has led to longer life, so far. Going through the event viewer and trying to find something that would have caused the crash has not been successful. I have filtered events at about two hours before the crash and looked for anything that might cause it and can find nothing. I ran the Dell stress test and there were no anomalies or issues. On a lark, this morning at about 4:00 AM I logged in to the administrators account and just left the machine running. When I came in later in the day at about 4:00 PM the machine was still how I left it. This leads me to believe it's not a hardware issue since it runs okay with one user but not with my main account. Should I establish a new account on the machine and make it my main account? That is going to be a pain but this is taxing my patience. I need this machine for business but I can't rely on it. Please help.
Windows 7 with Office 2010 starter software since 2011 - no problems. Upgraded to AT&T Uverse with Dlink DWA140 installed in USB port by phone company person. Since then, when clicking on either Word or Excel, it ends with "Microsoft Word (Excel) cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in Control Panel" Trying to repair the product has not been successful.
The automatic update started at 8.30 am, by 1.30 pm it had reached 91% complete and stayed there till I shut it down by cutting off all power at 7.45 pm. What is wrong with this update? How do I prevent this situation from happening when Windows does the next install? There were no other devices connected at the time - no CD or DVD, no memory stick, just a monitor and a mouse.
I am having an issue where my USB devices disconnect and reconnect intermittently. There seemed to be a hotfix for this which I downloaded, but it is a zip file and I'm not sure what it does or where it goes once unzipped. It says it will unzip the files to my C: drive, but I don't think the hotfix is running and I'm still having the issue. What can I do to deploy the hotfix and hopefully solve my issue? -Thanks
I was on my Dell 2-in-1 laptop, Windows 10, and was trying it in tablet mode and I changed some settings here and there. I didn't like the tablet mode so I switched back to desktop mode and now my taskbar icons change after I open an app. I will post it here... After clicking the icon to open an app, it now goes to an icon in an expanded box with blue line across the bottom (see open apps above: Display icon; Chrome icons). It didn't use to do that. Before this sudden change, an opened app just showed the icon only, with a blue line just under the icon...not an expanded box with a title as shown. If I have a few apps open it spreads the taskbox too far. I hope someone can understand what I'm talking about and can tell me how to get this back to normal.
Homegroup was working fine between my two laptops and then decided (reason unknown) to stop working properly... Both fully updated running Windows 10 Lenovo - homegroup works fine, can access all the Toshibas folders/files with no issues Toshiba - can see homegroup and can see Lenovo's folders but cannot open them. Try to open folders and get error Windows cannot access Error code: 0x80070035 So I have spent several hours trying to fix, have tried everything on both computers - created new homegroup, restarted both computers atleast 10 times each - have checked network connection is private - windows firewall turned off - triple checked homegroup advanced sharing settings (about 100 times!) - settings as per all other threads. - tried the Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP fix - checked the required services(local) are running and automatic - tried the regedit fix - AllowRemoteRPC changed from 0 to 1 (both machines) - shared all folders in properties > sharing - have checked/completed for driver updates - have deleted all files in C:WindowsServiceProfilesLocalServiceAppDataRoamingPeerNetworking I have read dozens of threads to try fix but am out of ideas and still no solution... Could some please help? Also would love to know which laptop is causing the issue as I am very confused which one is causing the issue or it if is both? I would like to try take ownership of the folders but I don't have access when I click on properties to do so. Thanks!

Some time ago i have installed linux. I was not using windows till today. So when i ran windows through grud (i have/had) dual boot it said that it cannot boot because some files are missing or something like that. So i decided to format disk and install windows again. As i said, disk got formatted. I was going to install windows but every time when i boot pc it keeps going into grud rescue. Even if i some how get further, device freezes at "Windows loading files...." I have tried also to somehow repair through DroidBoot (using smartphone) and it skips into grub. I have even recorded windows iso once again, but the effect is same as earlier. My hardware is ok, same as cd I am using Thinkpad T410 with ssd drive
Installed Win 10 Pro 3 days later got blue screen with NTFS error 0xc0000001- had installed new memory, I moved my data over to a new SSD 1TB- installed, created recovery media- did repair and now get stop code: Critical Process Died- called for help 4 times tonight Windows people were rude as crap- and hung up on me- tried to tell me I would have to pay $99 dollars to get tech support. WELL NO WAY JOSE- except they all had Indian accents- and I don't mean Cherokee. This is a notorious Windows 10 problem- this version is the "Blue Screen of Death" champion. Since they will not support their defective product - I want a refund- unless their boss wants to call me with the Corporate #.
