Its not fair

Windows XP

Does Microsoft care? do they not realize that their products ruin people’s lives and makes all the simplest work so much harder? why does this company not care about the many frustrated people and why do they insist they have a OS that works and helps people? is there proof of this? all I know is I have to literally fight with my computer to do the easiest simplistic task, nothing never works or it works stupidly and there is only two solvable answers to that; they do not know or they do not care? or is maybe is it on purpose? can anyone reading this provide evidence that goes against what I am saying? look at the rise of the OS to what we have today. I didn't have these problems with XP, I didn't have these problems with 7, but 10 I do. I look at 10 and I am just like really? Microsoft must have done two things; employee a bunch of interns fresh out of school and also made a department that make sure Microsoft goes as backwards as possible. I say this because some of it has to be on purpose because no developer holding any Microsoft cert would ever deploy such a travesty. My work production has decreased because of windows 10, my data has been lost from time to time because of win 10, my resources are nonstop and constantly overburdened because of win 10. Now lets’ go onto the operations, truly what happened? why can I not do anything easy? why can I not do things like I did in 7 or even xp? why are these defaults, these ridiculous defaults enable that only goes against the user and destroys data? I mean the point of 10 from what I can tell, is it's a NSA spying device, I mean really? I counted 17 different forms of telemetry enabled. did xp or 7 have that? or maybe by chance Microsoft knows they suck royally, that's why they handed it off to another nation, made it free and then asked for the help of Linux? asking Linux for help proves it all but we will never rid of this "farce" a funny man once said why? because sadly we live in a world where 95% of the people are just as stupid as MS and are enablers. I love the fact big business are using Linux more and more and I can't what till Qualcomm goes desktop. Now I am off to take my heart attack and aneurysm pills before I go back to using my windows 10.

Video playback not working

Windows XP

Hello, I have an HP 250 G5 Windows 10 laptop. (If more information is necessary, please ask!) Sometimes, and more often lately, video will NOT work. It doesn't matter which browser I am on or viewing a video offline. Sometimes the video will actually start but no sound. On offline videos (such as realplayer or windows media player, etc.) the video will be extremely slow and no sound either. On YouTube I get this message: if playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device. That does work, however it is not an acceptable answer. I have checked to see if I have the latest drivers and I do. It would be nice if I could actually get an answer from microsoft that WORKS. Thanks. p.s. I wasn't entirely sure what section to put this in and since I've been cussed out for that mistake before, I thought I'd play it safe and put it in "other settings". If that is still unsatisfactory, please feel free to MOVE it to the appropriate section.

Snipping tool

Windows XP

I have a number of long newspaper articles I want to copy from a web page. These extend over several web pages, but Snipping Tool will not 'snip' beyond a page at a time. My solution so far is to open a blank Word page>snip the web page>copy>paste into Word. It's tedious, and my grandfather wrote 30 of these stories! Is there any way to get the snipping tool to capture more than one page at a time? Thanks, Alan

Windows 7 - Mouse selecting wrong image

Windows XP

In Windows 7, recent problem. Using Chrome, I search for an image and get, as usual, a page of choices. Right click on one of them, hit copy image then go to another program (in this case Word, but others, too), right click and hit Paste. Instead of the image I clicked, what is pasted is the image above or beside the one I clicked on. I've looked at the mouse settings on the control panel and see no issues. Have certainly made no changes. I've tried cleaning the mouse, using a different USB port and even switching to another mouse, but it is the same thing. I've got a mouse pad. Any ideas? Thanks

Moved desktop from C: to F:

Windows XP

Hello, I have a very frustrating problem occurring on my computer right now. Yesterday I decided I needed space on my C: drive which is a 120gb ssd, and it housed the desktop at that time. So, I changed the location of the desktop from the C: drive to my F: drive which is my hard drive. After I did this I experienced many problems and many of my games lost their correct directories. I wanted to move the desktop back to my C: drive to fix these directory problems, but there wasn't enough space since the whole F drive was dumped on the desktop. Perhaps there is some way to transfer the desktop to my C drive without moving all the stuff that is on the F drive, just the things that were on my desktop to begin with. Any help is appreaciated!

Mahjong workaround fix for 101_ 107_1 error

Windows XP

On 1/20/17, I was successful in resolving the failure caused by an update to the Mahjong app, on my Win-10 laptop. The error code was 101_107_1 and later 101_105_101. Running the suggested 'sfc /scannow' was not successful. It appears that the handshake with the Xbox server is the cause. I un-installed to Mahjong app and re-installed it, and still got the error. I went to the MS store for Xbox related games and downloaded another app ( Minesweeper for me) and ran it successfully. It did need to reload my old winning statistics. I then re-ran the Mahjong app and it worked without an error message. My history seems to have been reloaded successfully. I suspect that installing the new app reset the local parameters for successful Xbox server handshake on my laptop. I hope this process also works for others.

Connected new computer to WIFI now all others won't connect

Windows XP

I connected our new laptop to our wifi. It connected no problem. Now, all other wifi devices won't connect (laptop, tablet, phones). When I try to connect with the other device it asks for the network security key. We enter that, but it then tells us network security key mismatch. We've reset our router to ensure we weren't using the wrong password. The new device will still connect, but the others wont. We get the same network security key request. When we put in the default "password" for our router it still doesn't work. I called out modem manufacturer and they said it was an issue that the new laptop created. They will fix - but for $100. I don't have that to fix. Can anyone here help me?

Videos on Fox News website do not run

Windows XP

Videos on the Fox News website do not run for some reason. This is a relatively recent problem. I'm using Windows 10 and the Edge browser. The Adobe Flash Player is integrated into Windows 10 and is enabled. I've noticed others have had or have this problem as well. Maybe all we can do is wait for an update to fix the problem. Will wait and see.
