Windows 10 problem.

Windows XP

Hey guys first time poster here, Anyways, so I bought a Windows 10 Home installation disk. I used it to put an OS on my new computer that I have just built. The problem is that I downloaded the software everything went great, used my pc for a while got a virus and had to wipe the whole thing. When I went to re-install I accidently selected Pro instead of Home and now it says that it is running a non genuine version of Windows. I need to somehow re-install Windows Home without wiping my whole drive again. Is this possible? Also, if re-install it will my software key still work or has it been used up?

Problems installing KB3213986

Windows XP

Yesterday I noticed that my computer had restarted several times. Checking the event viewer I saw that update KB3213986 had failed to install seven times since Jan 12th. A google search showed that gamers was having trouble with it on duel monitor setups but I didn't find a lot of people having trouble with it not actually installing. I decided to start the update manually and see what was going on. The update appears to download correctly and begins installing. Part way through it reboots the computer and continues the setup. At 99% it says that it was unable to install and would attempt to uninstall, reboots and finishes the uninstall. The error code in event viewer is 0x800F0922. Thinking for some reason that the update might not be downloading correctly I downloaded the offline installer that that did the same thing. As part of my debugging process I ran System File Checker, it didn't find any integrity violations. Until I can find a solution I used the Show or Hide Updates troubleshooting program to hide the update so my computer would't continue to download the update to only have it fail. I don't like this solution because I like to keep my OS and programs up to date, but I may have to wait till next month to try updating again. Event viewer log file: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtjYo5Y3wyCSn2_9YolQqHp6UQSr System information: https://1drv.ms/t/s!AtjYo5Y3wyCSn20YKhXZ-xO0U8oB I didn't enable editing, but if you need me to just let me know. Thanks for any help. Travis

Kernel Lock Acquisition Raised IQRL error

Windows XP

I've intermittently had this BSOD since last October, when I tried to plug in an older projector into my laptop and got it for the first time. Since then, I have updated every single driver and done a system restore, all to no avail. Now I can't even boot into safe mode. Where can I go from here? At this point is it time to learn how to use Linux? I've heard that I should make an image file -- how do I do that, and what do I do if even that fails? Is there a way to permanently stop this recurring BSOD other than getting a new OS entirely? I repeat: I require a permanent solution to this recurring problem.

Computer issues - need help

Windows XP

Hello, I built my PC in October and ever since it has had "Event 41, Kernel-Power" issues. From the event viewer: [ Guid] {331C3B3A-2005-44C2-AC5E-77220C37D6B4} Event viewer: http://imgur.com/a/8W4s9 I have posted in reddit and tried using multiple different suggestions such as: checking my PSU cables/connections, checking everything is properly in the Mobo, checking cpu/gpu temps, swapping my RAM to different slots, Windows Mem test, checking RAM voltage, changing power settings so comp wouldn't go to sleep, etc. to no avail. I bought a new PSU and that actually stopped the crashes for about a month. Then the crashes started again, so I took out my USB powered speakers and tried them in my old PC (the old PC crashed with the same error code!). I thought this was surely the issue - so I bought new speakers (non-usb powered) but the crashes started happening again. I am at a loss and hoping you can help. There is no effective way to troubleshoot as I found this can happen when I'm gaming or when computer is idle. The computer will also crash if the speakers are plugged in or not, so I don't think that's the issue. Blizzard technical support had me run a memtest86 scan and I found a few possible errors but am not sure what they mean. Does anyone know if this means I need new RAM? Transferring files from my current windows 10 home to a new windows 10 professional unit

Windows XP

I have an old HP Pavilion computer with Windows 10 home edition and just bought a new Dell XPS8910 with Windows 10 Professional. What is the best way to transfer everything over? I have seen there are 3 basic ways; Utilize the backup program is one. What is the best way short of manually copying everything over and reinstalling all the old software? Respectfully, Computer Novice.
