I opened Cortana and received a message that I could load Cortana on my mobile phone. I filled in my phone - three times - and then saw a message - three times - that the link had been sent to my phone. But no message was received. Help?
I updated some of my machines, but one just will not do it. Someone recommended to run chkdsk. So my machine initially said that there are no errors; that I don't need to run chk dsk. Then, "Windows found errors on the drive that need to be repaired. Close this dialog box and then repair the drive." Typical MS completely unhelpful information. It's like being stranded in the desert - no useful info whatsoever after this. Any clues? This is really unbelievable. There are no appropriate 'Windows topics' listed to post this too. Hope it finds a place.
Dear Community, I am running windows seven enterprize. I cannot upgrade to windows ten because of this. I bought this lap top refurbished. I'm certain this has come up before for others, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I recently got my laptop computer back from my hardware guy, and have been trying to install the Anniversary Update for Windows 10. At first, it wasn't finding any updates, which was, frankly, impossible (since the computer hadn't been updated since mid-September). I fixed that by unchecking the option to give me updates to other Microsoft products. So, anyway, now the 1607 update downloads, runs through the entire sequence, and then it comes to the section after reboot. The computer just shuts down completely - no restart or anything. The first time I tried this, it shut down around 53%. The second at 32%. When I power the machine back on, it goes into recovery mode. Upon checking my update history, the 1607 update isn't even listed, so I have no idea what might be causing this. Needless to say, I'm getting rather frustrated at this point. Help?
Hi, friends. For days, I have been frustrated and stressed out because I could not print anything from my laptop. I have a Lenovo Z50, running on a Windows 8.1 OS. Specifically, in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, every time I click the Print icon, or press Ctrl+P, or go to File>Print, nothing happens. By “nothing,” I mean the Print Dialog Box does not appear and the whole Adobe Reader just freezes and is not responding. I thought it was a specific problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it again. Still, the problem remains. I discovered that this also happens to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. I already tried the following “fixes” to no avail: Uninstalling and reinstalling my printer’s driver Stopping and starting the print spooler Updating my printer’s driver Restarting my laptop This just happened out of the blue, and I could not remember any major changes I have made to my laptop before this thing happened. For a student, this really stresses me out. I hope you could help me. Thank you so much, Ralph
Whenever I open my usb, there are only two things that shows up "Drive" and "System Volume Information" but when I used another computer from a computer cafe, I clicked on the "Drive" it was able to read it and showed my usb's contents. But using my computer, it doesn't show up. Whenever I click on "Drive" in my computer from my usb, a black window appears with codes but it won't open. What seems to be the problem? I don't want to lose the data in it because it holds my voucher requirements and the file's name is drive.bat
Hi All! I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Home from Windows 7 Home Premium. Before, I would run programs like Putty and SecureCRT to SSH in to various devices. Now, when I try to connect to any remote device via SSH, I get a connection timed out. I have tried a few other programs just to verify, and it does not matter which I use. In Wireshark, the only thing I notice is that one outbound packet is transmitted on port 22. I do not get a reply. I have tried to SSH to multiple hosts unsuccessfully. I have other machines that I have tested from, Windows 7, Ubuntu. Android, and they can all access the same host via TCP22. http://imgur.com/a/Q3PsB Otherwise, my network connectivity seems to be working fine. I do have a few other network issues with DLNA that could be related. I have, of course, completely turned off firewall for testing purposes. Most of the devices I am trying to SSH to are in the same layer 2 segment such as wireless APs, router, switch, etc. I originally ran the upgrade tool to go from Windows 7 to 10. Suspecting that could have been a problem, I then did a clean install. The same issue is occurring. I ran sfc /scannow and it found nothing. In the event viewer, I am not seeing anything in particular that is related, but perhaps I am missing something. Here are my hardware specs. Based on the attachment. You can see that nothing is loading up. I assumed this was a temporary issue. So I left my laptop on overnight hoping to see it function the next day. But nothing has changed. I don't know whats the issue. Thanks. Original Title : Help?
Ten times over the past three days I've tried to apply the update to 15007. It fails. After the update has been downloaded and prepared, and then the system is Restarted, the update reboots to the sign-on screen rather than simply rebooting and continuing to apply the update in the familiar 30% complete, 60% complete, 100% complete sequence with reboots after each percentage milestone. Microsoft Troubleshooter has not solved the problem. Generally the DB still is corrupted after the Restart sequence completes. Troubleshooter does not resolve the DB corruption problem. My two other systems have been updated from 15002 to 15007, also with issues during the Update process. Microsoft should resolve their issues with Windows Update, because both the update to 15002 and 15007 have encountered issues. I've had issues with both the Pro and Home versions, and with Intel and Asus mini-ITX motherboards. Single monitor only. HDMI and Display Port monitor connections. I've been an Insider since Day 1 and I've applied nearly every update released on the Fast channel, or level. These Update issues are new.
