Windows 10 critical process died - Command prompts failed to fix problem.

Windows XP

I have recently started getting BSOD with error message Critical Process Died. I have reinstalled Windows 10 twice and tried the command prompts recommend online however they haven't solved the problem. I've checked and updated drivers and still no change... I honestly don't know where to go from here, all I can think of is replacing the Hard Drive at this stage but would rather not. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows 10: Scanning and repairing drive (c): 0% complete

Windows XP

Hello I've recently been browsing a number of posts and none of them are quite like this situation. Yesterday, during a game, my Acer Laptop N series decided to freeze. I performed an emergency shutdown and turned it back on. All that appeared in the first few instances was a screen that had the windows logo and a buffering logo. A few restarts later, it moves onto a solution attempt that says "Repairing disk errors, this may take over an hour" in which a few hours later, it restarts and moves onto the screen "Scanning and repairing drive (c:): 0%" for a few more hours. After sometime, the blue screen will appear but I haven't had the chance to catch the information stated. Then, the whole process starts again. Any suggestions on how to solve this are welcomed and I'll supply more information if needed. Carl

Issues enabling windows Aero

Windows XP

I'm attempting to enable Aero on my Windows 7 professional to resolve an issue with horizontal screen tearing on every program/video/game with fast movement, but I don't have the option to in the personalization window. I've tried forcing it via registry via a guide from this site (which I'll paste at the bottom of this post) But upon running Command prompt in step 6, when I try to use the "Net Start uxsms" command, it returns with "The device cannot be started because it is disabled or has no enabled devices associated with it" Any clue how to fix this, it's driving me insane " Force Enable Aero in Windows 7 1. Click on Start and type regedit at run 2. Now Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsDWM 3. In the right details pane, create following Three DWORD (32-bit value) entry UseMachineCheck, and set its value to 0. Blur, and set its value to 0. Animations, and set its value to 0. 4. Close Regedit 5. Click on Start and type CMD with administrative Priviliges 6. Now type following command Net Stop uxsms Net Start uxsms Above command will stop and start Desktop Window Manager Session Manager. 7. Now you can turn on Aero by right clicking on desktop-> Personalize -> Select Windows Colors"

Latest Version of Windows 10 Crashes

Windows XP

Hello, so I have this problem with my computer where it crashes into the blue screen with error: "Critical Process Died" This has happened several times so here is how it happens. I am on google chrome, browsing the web. Sometimes I am watching a video. After a couple of hours of usage, sometimes I want to open a new web page. Then the site that I want to load does not finish loading. Also the start menu becomes unresponsive and I can't open it. Not even Task Manager. So then it crashes. This sometimes happens when I am watching a YouTube video. If you need information about my hardware here it is: Lenovo Ideapad U310 2015 Intel(R) Core i7(TM)-3571U CPU @ 1.90GHz 2.40GHz 8GB of RAM x64 Bit Operating System x64 - based processor. Can Microsoft fix this annoying bug? Thanks.

Two Touch Monitors with Surface Dock for Surface Pro 4: Various Bugs

Windows XP

Microsoft says only one external monitor can be connected to the Surface Dock for the Surface Pro 4: Why? Such technical support is deceptive, because the Surface Dock is advertised with two adapters with no mention that only one may be used on the sales page. 1a. I connected two touch monitors via VGA adapters. The hp monitor worked properly including touch functionality; the IO Data monitor had a wavy image with touch functionality affecting the hp monitor. 1b. I replaced the IO Data monitor's VGA adapter with an HDMI adapter, and it resolved the wavy image problem, but now its touch doesn't respond at all, and the hp monitor's touch affects the Surface Pro 4 (SP4) display instead. 2. New windows will open in a very large display (low resolution?) not showing enough of its contents to be usable, and keyboard shortcut (Windows key + left/right arrow key) to a different monitor resolves this problem, usually, after one or more swaps between monitors. 3. Putting SP4 to sleep, attaching it to Surface Dock, resuming from sleep, the infrared camera failed to start, froze the login screen, and I had to hard shutoff restart. Then after logging in the hp monitor was set to the lowest resolution and wrong orientation (I am using it in Portrait mode, physically rotated, but it was set to landscape), and a restart resolved this problem. 4. One day shortly after starting to use the Surface Dock, the external mouse didn't work. I have disconnected it and have been using the trackpad, assuming it will work if I try using it again later. Why are these problems happening? Please release a software update to restore touch functionality for both monitors and eliminating these bugs, and update that technical support page accordingly.

Windows 10 File Explorer

Windows XP

1.) ‘File Explorer’ Folder problems. I have many pictures in groups of folders and have for years. I did not have a problem with Windows 7. Here are the problems: a. I set up all my folders using these columns; NAME, DATE MODIFIED, TYPE and SIZE. If I bring up any folder in my File Folders in ‘NAME” order (alphabetical) and viewing a set of photos in a folder using any photo viewer, I can click on the next picture and it will show me (in sequence) the next picture, and the next picture, etc. b. If I bring up any folder in my File Folders in ‘DATE’ or ‘DATE MODIFIED’ order and viewing a set of photos in a folder using any photo viewer, if I click on the next picture, it will not show me the next picture in sequence. It seems to show me random pictures in the folder as I keep clicking the next picture. It’s like it tries to go back to an alphabetical or numerical order. c. The same situation also occurs if I do a ‘SEARCH’ in a folder to find a common name and using any photo viewer, starting with the first photo, it will not show me the next picture in sequence. It seems to show me random pictures in the folder as I keep clicking the next picture. d. This situation did not occur in Windows 7.

Low FPS After Recent (1/9/2017) Win10 Update

Windows XP

Hi After the most recent Win10 Update (1/9/17), my fps in games has dropped significantly. I had already installed the Anniversary Update and had to deal with it's audio issues some time ago. My games have been running fine with no issues till today. I only play three taxing games, which are Gears of War 4, Civ 6, and Titanfall 2. The latter being affected the worst. I have all the latest Nvidia and MSI drivers. I turned all the graphical setting down to their lowest levels and the problem persisted, so it's not that. I can't think of anything I would've done between the time I played my last game and the update that would've caused this. If anyone out there has any idea, please help. Thanks. MSI GS 63VR Stealth Pro Laptop Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU 2.6GHz 32gb DDR4 RAM Intel HD 530/Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
