Windows Update, now system wants a password

Windows XP

I updated my Windows 8 machine yesterday, there were a ton of updates 100+.  When I rebooted, it was asking for a password.   It will not boot up completely without this password.   I do not have a system backup disk (my laptop does not have a disk drive).  If I get the password wrong 3 times, it reboots.   Sometimes I can go into advanced setup but since I don't have administrator set up on this laptop, it won't let me restore to previous backups without that password.  I do not want to lose my files, pictures, etc on this laptop.   How can I get this to boot up to a windows screen?
